Take a look at my Fuelly.

I have a 2008 single cab, 5 speed, 4 banger. With only a couple exceptions, the entire lifespan of this truck has been on the turnpike going 75MPH, about 100 miles a day, 5 days a week.

I've managed a tank-best 27.7 MPG (I did something like 460 miles on that tank) and have a LIFETIME average of 24.5 to 25.5.

And I do all my calculations on full tanks, not individual trips.

The old Taco, Vera, was similar. The last 6 months I had her, she did all in town driving in traffic, so that sucked the gas down to like 22, 23. The previous two years was similar driving to this one, and got a similar MPG.

Profile looks like 2WD, but if it's a 5 lug, lifting is a completely different procedure than a Prerunner, and on the 5-lug, there's nothing much you can do with the rear short of new springs with more arch.

Picked up this shell yesterday for $190! I had wanted a bestop but this was far cheaper. Fits perfectly and has racks! I wasn't crazy about the corrugated aluminum caps but it's growing on me. I feel a little bit like Hank Hill or something now with this thing on lol.

It being black helps. Doesn't look bad at all. Looks handy and functional. Only issue I see is coming up with something to get down in between rr window of truck and front window of top to clean them.

It's not bad, right? I was on the fence but I think I made the right choice, any of my other options were going to cost like 3x as much. Plus I can move my canoe with this thing too. It needs to be cleaned up and new weatherstripping put on, but it should be ready to camp next weekend hopefully.

i have the 885x's...i'd say pretty damn close to 3" since our trucks are light.
with that being said, they ride pretty hard. considering its made to compensate for extra weight hanging off the front of your truck (plate bumpers, etc)

i plan on getting spindles and removing the 885x's and run my stock coils again on my 5100s.

    maybe look into the 884's

For $190, I wouldn't care if it was made from 2x2's and 1/2" ply, covered with shingles to look like a mountain house.

But it's a good looking cap.

I've got 884's on mine and it is a pretty smooth ride. The 2" add a leafs were pretty stiff at first but have settled in. saw a post on this site somewhere where the difference between 884's and 885's was explained pretty well but can't find that post now. I didn't add any spacers and I got about 2 and 3/4" lift in the front.

i think from what i've read is the 884 and 885 have the same spring rate
it's just the 885 is a taller coil than the 884

somebody correct me if i'm wrong.

Nice truck! I just bought a set of OME 884's and 5100's to install over memorial day weekend. Which shocks are you running?

Also which AAL did you install?
