I tried that but it won't engage. 4 high has no problem.

Black Sand Pearl factory paint - flattened "au natural" by tree branches.
You can try taking the connector off at the transfer case and clean the contacts with electrical contact cleaner, let dry, seal the o-ring with a little bit of dielectric grease and plug back in. If it's really bad you could use a bit of fine sand paper as well. I've had that connection corrode and cause problems getting into 4wd.

Make a rocket stove. Probably get through a night on kindling you could collect in 2 minutes, very little smoke... practically no smoke if you do it right and get it burning hot enough. As far as tent fabric goes, well.. I'm sure it'd be f'd either way unless you get some special tent gasket/port/whatever. Or just have a 4" chimney with a 6" duct going around it to prevent direct contact with tent or your legs.

I thought about bringing up 16 bricks for a rocket stove last time I camped.. but that's 96 lbs.

Installed stupid roof rack tonight. I had two options finally figured out, low profile directly on Yakima landing pads, hacky but likely would have been more stable, and the deflection in center of basket doesn't appear to be much of an issue so ~2" clearance from roof should be ok. Way better than this wind sail I've constructed. Also didn't want to pester girlfriend to get bitten by mosquitoes with me tonight lifting it up there, and lifting it on to bars was safer alone than lifting on to tiny feet.. would have scratched the hell out of truck.

Thanks mang, and nice. Sometimes I wish I didn't have this f'n shell. I saw in your sketch you're planning a spare tire carrier, and I guess bumper?

After farting around with the stock bumper installing my hitch, it seems pretty sturdy.. You should go genius and make some simple spare tire carrier for stock bumpers  I'll buy!

I wouldn't trust the rear bumper to hold a tire. Mine is like aluminum foil
