Yuck, I despise mud. Hopefully the MT/R's prove worthy in it. So far I am disappointed in the snow performance.

I need a pup and I am finally considering one this summer. I have enough time, money and my future is pup friendly as well. Who knows.

The new vinyl arrived and boy am I excited! As far as quality goes I can't say much but it feels similar to the 3M I have left over. The AWESOMENESS of it is that I got a 9' roll for $30 plus $20 shipping. Just glancing at it I would say you could probably wrap the whole rear end depending on how you cut it.

I will be taking off my 3M OD and then wrapping the Hood, roof, tailgate, and grille. If it lays smooth then I will order a much larger roll to finish it and have more than enough around to patch it up when need be.

Idk if you said before but how hard is it to lay and how well does it hold up? That might be a good option for me to keep from getting scratches on tight trails.

I took a pine branch and scratched my tailgate up pretty good. Just know that it will scratch, its not jesus, and you can't really buff out matte colors. I haven't experienced rock chips, but I guarantee they will damage the vinyl and soften the blow to the paint.

As far as installing, its TIME consuming. It's not one of those mods you do with the guys over a 6 pack. In fact its probably best you aren't drunk. Getting a show room quality wrap is hard but very few of us will care that the inside door sill is a different color than the outside of the truck.

It's a giant sticker. I can see how you could pull paint off if you are being a jack ass but if you go slow, use a heat gun, and be aware of the areas where your paint is already chipped I don't see it being a problem.

Its a risk, yes. There are also a lot of people that rip it off versus pulling small smooth chunks after heating to loosen the adhesion. To get the small pieces left over you heat and use a rubber squeegee.

IMO seems like a lot of work for something that's going to get ripped up on the trails, at least around me. I'd rather just let my paint take the beating and try to buff it out if I ever wanted. :notsure:

You can only buff so much. That same scratch that would tear vinyl likely wouldn't be buffed out.

Damn, didn't realize it was that tough. I just pictured my truck with all the pin striping being frayed vinyl.
