The toolbox is halfway sunk into the bed, I hunt and shoot as well and I usually throw most what I can in toolbox, and rest in passenger or behind the seat. I've learned to pack "light" in these trucks. Your right about not having much room, but for a single guy I figure I don't need a lot of room, I just need to get where I need to go haha. I'm not sure how much in material it was to do the flatbed since I bought the truck with it. A lot of guys seem to like it however and I get quite a few asking about it and my front bumper. These have always been my favorite trucks, just look so damn good, and they go forever. I also get 18mpg in town and 24 on hwy on 33x12.5s from the 3rz 5spd, so I can't complain a whole lot there either.

It's all in your head. Either that or you have too much shit. I am over 6' tall with boots on and with the seat all the way back I can touch the pedals with my tiptoes but I wouldn't be able to drive. With the seat in normal driving position there is lots more space than meets the eye. My jumper cables, tow strap, code reader, flashlight, breaker bar and tie down strap all fit in the cavern under the passenger side.

My last camping trip I also had a CD case, tablet, chargers and 2 books under the driver's side. Behind the seat I had a Ruger Mini 14 with ammo and extra banana clips, tool kit, master-flo compressor and hose, ARB tire deflator and tire repair kit, camp shovel and axe, spare u-joints, belts and coolant hoses, a pillow and a day pack with extra clothes. I still had room to spare and there was nothing pressing into the seatback from behind except the pillow, which probably made the passenger side more comfortable rather than less. Looking into the cab from outside, you wouldn't see any weird lumps or shit sticking out and you'd never know that space exists.

I actually got it from RockAuto. If you purchase one from there get the CAPA certified bumper ($48) and if I remember correctly get the "NON-SR5" bumper to get the bumper without the flare holes cut in it.

Gotta agree with DJB1. I can pack a ton of crap behind that seat! It's NOTHING like the previous body style in that regard.

I always have a tow strap, clevis', jumper cables, water, bed cleats, jacket/rain gear, etc. Often I'll have a couple of small backpacks, assorted other gear, soft double rifle case, ammo bag, etc.

Surprising what goes back there. The angle between the seat back and the cab provides plenty of room.

I took that factory jack out and cut out the metal bracket to give more room behind the seat. Hi lift jack fits perfectly in the toolbox. I'm 6'2 140# and I have just enough room with the seat not even all the way back, my 6x9 speaker boxes prevent me from being able to put seat all the way back, still very manageable. Just have to be organized and pack somewhat light with these, which is OK by me.

I hear ya on the ride/comfort lol. Just giving ya some shit, only full size v8 I've owned was an 04' F-150 with 5.4 triton. Solid truck for 6 years until started having some major engine/electrical problems that weren't at all safe. For instance driving down hwy at 60mph and the truck shutting off losing all power. Didn't want to mess with fixing it, sold it and bought another Toyota.

I fit all kings of junk in the space behind my seats. Have a set of jumper cables, and a basic tool bag that live there full time. Also have a down jacket that stuffs into it's own pocket, and a small collapsable backpack with an MRE, space blanket, and some other random goodies in it. Still plenty of space to stash a pillow and sleeping bag for camping trips. I keep a headlamp and spare batteries in my center console. Rear seats in the extra cab are worthless anyways.

Nice, my buddy got one right after I bought my truck and he really enjoyed it. I wish we had that extra small window on the taco to relieve our blind spots a bit.

I was not aware of that. I mean I knew it was possible but I didn't know it could be done with factory parts. Probably would cost an arm and a leg though.
