Why not? It's my truck and it's my parts! I believe the truck has two cats. Each one will sell for $100 as they're next to new. My truck has 16k miles on it. I did the same thing with my Subaru.

You don't ask you don't get. It's worth a try and the worst they can say is no.

Just got the letter for frame check/replacement.....Eff that shit, my truck is garaged, non-salted & without any surface rust. No frame needed but will take reimbursement for the 2012 oem 4 leaf packs I bought whenever they get around to that. If no reimbursement then they can put a new oem set under it just for the principle.

Pretty sure he wants to sell it for scrap. The metal inside OEM cats are worth a lot

Scrap as Jon mentioned. There is platinum inside of cats and it's the best thing you can sell dollar for dollar in the scrap world imo beyond copper which is harder to attain unless you're a plumber or electrician. Toyota is going to do the same thing I'm sure once they "evaluate it for defects" which I'm guessing is the only reason they'll give as to why they can't give me it back. Guess you haven't heard about criminals going around to used car lots, park and rots, etc, and sawing off the cats to sell them.

I'd bet the techs are walking out with them and heading to the scrap yard

All regular cab owners are saints. It's the access cab and double cab'ers that you need to watch out for.

And yeah I wouldn't mind selling an old cat to a scrap yard for a couple extra pennies
