Hey TW thought it'd be a good place to post some pics of my RC. 2011 4x4 51k running 285/75/16 Hercules Terra Tracs, Westin front bar, Westin running boards, and KCs up front thinking of going with some 17inch rock Stars and smaller tires with about a 2 inch lift what y'all think?

This is not just Volant intake...It is KVA.

K&N tube - I used it since it has static mounting spot on motor for tube/filter to move with motor. The volant tube mounts solidly to box/filter where the only flex is at TB connection. Didn't like that and the volant tube didn't provide mounting spot for the little valve thingy like the K&N tube does. Volant only has MAF mounting.

Volant filter box - I used this to enclose the filter isolating it from direct engine heat. I made clear lid for it to keep on top of filter cleanliness without taking lid off. The volant box breathes thru the fenderwell opening just like oem. I did try out the scoop for the Volant box that connects to the front of the box but all that did was scoop up dust and bugs and leaves and such into the box with the filter, it did not help performance or mpg any on my 4 cyl. The big oem boxy thing inside the fenderwell leading to the Vloant box is still in place. Not sure if removing that would be helpful or not. Maybe I'll find out down the road what it'd do without it.

aFe Dry Flo S Filter - I went with this washable non-oiled filter. I do not think it filters better than oem nor does it perform any differently, it is simply re-usable and fits the K&N tube and fits inside the Volant box.

I ended up with this config to have best parts of each intake with as much the same CAI function of oem that looks better under the hood and has a washable filter. I have lost no power/mpg, am not heat soaking the filter nor is it oiling up the MAF. I also have tooter IM spacer, LCE header & gibson catback to work with the intake. I have a URD MAF calibrator and Innovate LC1 wbo2 with AFR gauge that will be added at some point to further refine tuning. Really happy so far with the increased driveability these changes have provided.

So what about these tires? Anyone know what those are just by looking at them? Or what size?

The tires are Federal Couragias. A cheaper tire that a lot of bros pick to put on big wheels for that mud tire look without the function of a good mud tire.

The size... I'd guess they are 33" tires wrapped around a 20" wheel.

Hell yeah that's pretty much exactly what I need my truck will probably never see the mud but I do see gravel roads everyday and the occasional snow 1/2 dozen times a year. How do they compare to Goodyear Wrangler M/Ts?

Yes, there are many threads about it in internet-land. I also have a coworker who had BFG KM2 255's on a bone-stock 2nd gen and they didn't rub. He didn't like the work truck look so he got a ghetto hockey puck lift and 285's on fugly XD wheels, now he has tire rub galore but thinks it looks so fucking cool!

The trick with 255's is to use wheels with the stock offset and no wheel spacers. You know, so the tires can tuck into the fender wells the way they are meant to do when the suspension flexes. I know that sounds like blasphemy, but we live in a world of mall-crawlers where fashion trumps function.

I think mud tires are supposed to suck in the snow, why not look into duratracs or Cooper s/t's or an all terrain. might get more miles out of them too.

07 taco regular cab with 2in front spacer read add a leaf lift. Looking for some cheap steel rims and eventually want 285 on it. Any suggestions on steel rims?
