The 2.7L Single Cab Thread

The Super44 is starting to sound like shit, annoying me and rusting out and the factory intake was already a "CAI" vs the K&N sucking in hot air from the engine bay.

 

They both did absolutely nothing gain wise and were a waste of money...just my opinion. I learned the hard way.

 

Ouch, and I live near Chicago where we salt our roads like madmen and send our governors off to prison.

Maybe I'll stay stock. But maybe not...

 

The lack of any power or sound of power in the 2.7L is hard to take sometimes. I should have gotten the V6 I know. But being my first car/truck what was I supposed to know lol.

 

Yeah, the Flowmaster's are known for rusting quickly. I live on a small island and there's no escaping the salt. I've got a hole in the muffler already.

 

I've heard MagnaFlow would be a better option for the 2.7's. I've never heard in person tho.

Aeroturbine 2525xl.... High quality muffler. Sounds great on our trucks , small and easy to tuck in our trucks, and doesn't get loud till 3k+rpm.

Yeah I remember him, but no I bought her new. I think he had Black and Silver wheels.

 

I have the I4. If you go with a flow master be sure you throw a couple coats of high temp paint on it

Also, +1 on leaving the exhaust stock. I like the sound it has, loud enough to sound good with the windows down and doesn't make people turn their heads wondering "why the fuck is that truck trying so hard to be badass".
