Well see my thinking was the same but opposite. Like rather than spend $25k on a tundra i could drop $6-$7k on an engine swap and it should get me by for a couple more years.

    I think

It could be a bad move but that's my logic.

Probably. Would help hold the weight of the engine and would definitely help if I need to pull a camper

@BabyTaco what companies make wiring harnesses? I followed the build you posted and doesn't have any real detail and Google isn't helping very much.

The only one I remember off the top of my head is Tweak'd Performance and I am not entirely sure they will do it for our tacomas. I remember seeing specific sites where you sent in your harness and they spliced it to work.

Lol! I probably wouldn't sell it if this all went down. Would probably save it and use it for a buggy build or something fun.

I would have gave you $1800 for it. That's money you could dump into your new engine!

No way these engines are worth that much.

    Are they?

Used 60k from salvage yard would have ran me $2600 + shipping. I opted to rebuild because even a high mileage engine was 2k+ and you add another $1000 for a shop to install and you are right are the cost of a rebuild.

Dang didn't realize these little engines are so high.

By the way! How is your speedometer?

I got a MPH app on my phone today and when my speedometer says 85mph the app says I'm doing 75? Is the app wrong or is yours the same with the big.tires and new gears @BabyTaco?

Same, we are overgeared this way. 36" tires will put you darn close to exact speeds
