I wouldn't call it all is well unless by that you mean you got security cam footage, tracked down asswipe who did it and THEY paid for the parts. Can't tell from first pic that it was more than a little scraped up. Did it really need new parts or did you really get asswipe who did it to pay? Sucks it even happened, glad it wasn't worse, lame MF's like that can eat shit and die!

Filed a police report. Police are aware of the camera quality the stores have where I was at... hard to even make out the make of vehicles when such things happen, let alone getting a plate number.

Yes it was heavily scraped on the corner and lighter scrapes on the front and side.

For the $254 for a new cover and flare extension piece and the hr it took me to install the pieces... I'll just tally it up as "it could have been worse" and go on about my life

Yep agreed...usually that is cheaper than deductible and higher rates for sure and good that no other strangers had to touch it to fix it...

Agreed. I lack confidence in most people doing any service for me with quality, let alone automobile services. Tough to find reputable places.

Oh there are plenty of reputable places...just not the rep that'd allow me any comfort in them touching my truck. Rep won't sell shit to me, personal experience is all I go by and that leaves few to no places since I do all my own stuff.

I would put the scratched bumper back on and save the clean one, no doubt the new one will get scratched as well. I actually like the look of our matt plastic bumpers but it scratches so easily.

Not my style to 'ignore' blemishes or damage. I bought the new one, selling the old one.

I know this may not be the place for it and I may start a independent thread for this but my buddy and I are in the early stages of planning to run the TAT next summer. If anyone has any experience with the trail or segments of and know what may need to be done to the Tacoma to get it ready for the trail would be greatly appreciated. Trying to come up with opinions on necessary gear so I can get a rough estimate for costs. Thanks a lot in advance.

May or may not be the place for this one, but since our driveshafts are one piece and different from the other models, I thought I would ask here.

Just put the Icon 1.5" progressive AAL in the back of my '12 4x4, (took the overload out) and am just now noticing an odd rattle that is coming from the rear end or driveshaft on coasting in neutral from above 45mph. I have to open the rear slider to hear it well, but it's definitely there.

Only 45,000 on the truck, any guesses? U-joints feel tight, actually have less vibes than stock with the new springs and front bilsteins set to 1.75".

    Thanks,

I've got the same thing happening with my truck. It's common with the regular cabs, a few of us on this thread have it. Mines been making that noise post lift for about a year, no problems at all so far.

That's odd. I would just really like to know what it is, I'm not too concerned with it per se, but still would like to know whether it's the driveshaft, u-joint etc...

I need to measure the driveline angles, but shims shouldn't be necessary at this small amount of lift on a one piece shaft.

I noticed when I grease the drive shaft zerks, the noise goes away, but only for a few days then comes right back.
