I know you didn't ask me, but I'll answer because I had the same set-up.
In flat country, where I live, it wasn't too bad in town and not terrible on trips, but you can't be shy on the gas pedal. It was hard to maintain speed on any incline, like overpasses.
4.88s solved it all and are fantastic with the 4cyl, auto trans, and 285s.

I only have 12k on the truck:D I dont drive much either! Also.. when you say hard to maintain speed on inclines are we talking about 65 mph to 50 mph or are we talking 65 mph to 20mph! I notice that even with my 265s I have a hard time mainting speed on inclines...

My issue is that I want 295s, but if I did, I would regear, but since im in the axles i might as well put some sort of limited slip/ locker in as well. And if im doing that. Why not go with 305s!

Exactly, and if I cut for 35s...why not cut for 37s. Then the 37s wouldn't do it for me and next thing you know I'm on solid axles with 40s. I dont care how well it would climb, it wouldnt be able to climb me out of the debt I would be in!

That is true...but I have grown quite fond of clean clothes and running water...so I should probably just do my regear and axle work with the 295s!

Got the goods. Do I really need a filter wrench or can I just use my hand to thread it

only use a wrench to take filter off, never use one to put it on...don't want to risk punching a hole in the filter

On the 2.7 if you can't budge it by hand you can get channel locks up in there to get it started moving. Don't go out and buy a filter wrench

whatever works, filter pliers are like $5. Works on any and all size filter (similar to channel locks as mentioned above).

don't forget to fill your filter up with oil prior to install, always a nice precaution

I always grab a handful of those metal/felt (or whatever material they are) washers from the dealer to replace the old one on the drain plug. They give them to you for free at any toyota dealer.

I used a led concepts grille light kit with 2 extra led strips. So it is 2, 24 inch led light strips in the grille and 2, 24 inch led light strips underneath the cab. I have their biggest controller that can run a TON of led strips. They also adjust to every color in the spectrum:bowdown:
