Been awhile since I've been on this thread. Trucks changed a bit since last time. And about to go under the knife again in prep for Moab in May.

JB weld. Really? You're better off finding someone who barely knows how to weld cause atleast they will get some sort of fusion between the metals. That's the dumbest shit I've ever seen lol

Alright lol that's all I needed to hear! I was skeptical but not going to 100% turn it down until I heard other opinions.

    Yep.
No. Wait and do it right.... however, I will say that mine was chopped for 3 years on the 05 AC, never plated and had zero issues.

One side on mine isn't plated either but I don't give a shit about my truck really lol. I just fix whatever breaks. I wouldn't recommend it to someone who babies their rig

With my luck if I didn't plate mine, my cab mount bushing would get destroyed before I made it to the end of my driveway. I swear I have terrible luck when it comes to vehicles.

I really don't see what it would honestly hurt to leave it open. Debris and things can get in there no matter what but now there would just be a more open shot to the bushing.

Picked up an 09 with 150k on it last week. Will be just about done with the 05 AC part out within the next couple weeks, then it's on to the reg cab build :D
