That's a good looking truck man!

    I like the wheels,

I think they look better in silver then Anthracite on your truck!

Some bilsteins, OME 885's, and an AAL.
Taco seats? They don't look like them. Probably just the lighting. I want buckets so bad.

Quick question, how much play do you guys have in your rear drivetrain? For the last year or so I've had a pretty nasty grinding noise that comes around whenever I let off of the throttle, anywhere from 30 mph-80 mph. I've always assumed it was from my driveshaft, and just have kept it thoroughly lubed up, but last night I noticed that I have about 5-8* of play in either the rear diff or trans-axle. The U-Joints are nice and tight with no play at all.

Details on said molle straps. I'd really like do re-do the headliner with some molle so I can stick my leatherman MUT up there.

My truck does the same thing from 50+ in 4th& 5th gear idk what it could be though it sounds like the rear u joints but they are tight and fine.

Mine doesn't seem to matter what gear i'm in, or even if I'm in a gear, and clutch position doesn't seem to effect it either. I made an appt saturday morning to have them look at it again, but it's gotten worse over time.

I wonder if there's some clearance changes within the diff or transaxle that open up when the trucks get warmed up/hot that are allowing the parts to grind. Whatever it is, idk, but I'm not really willing to let it get past the powertrain warranty un-fixed.

Haha, will do, I'm sitting at about 46,500 so I'm well out of the bumper to bumper but luckily have that powertrain left.

Dunno bout the play, but as far as the noise, it's very common.

I've got all but the weatherstripping... Never driven a vehicle where it was so easy to smoke a clutch. Had the dealership fix the stupid shifter boot. I just rode around without it for a long time.

Did some more trouble shooting on the noise, before I left work, I checked the driveshaft and it's tolerances, it was tight, like no play at all. This was checked after my truck sat for about 9.5 hrs in roughly 75* weather. After driving home, about 12 miles at 60-80 mph for most of it, it was back to having about 5-10* of play in it, and the drivetrain was warm to the touch. I think there is something in there that is allowing play to develop as the temp rises. Not sure what would be expanding/contracting that much.

When I cranked up my Bilstein 5100's to 2.5 and put on the AAL is when I got the noise. When I took the AAL off and lowered the Bilsteins back to 1.85, the noise went away. It's gotta be something to do with the driveshaft angles. I believe it's more common in our trucks because we don't have a carrier bearing.
