Real question: because I see this modification happen a lot throughout this forum.

Why go stubby with the antenna?

Well the car wash snapped mine off so I just replaced it with this. Only 6$ I think it was and I get fine service. I like the look of both

want to go spring under (long travel)

I don’t know really what to do because I have a one peace drive shaft and the slip yoke goes into tail shaft of the transmission .

Or just limit OEM one peace drive shaft on the truck with limit straps if so how much down travel can you pull with out messing up the drive line

I would hate to have to make a two peace drive shaft just for spring under kit

What do you think is best for the 5lug

We picked a house and we are just pending financing. Just over a month out for expected closing and first thing I am doing in the garage is yanking the engine. Obviously the easiest route is dropping in a used or remanned engine. That's my current plan, despite my desire to be irresponsible and drop in the new cummins R2.8.

I ruled out the V6 in the past but has any one put one in their truck yet and has something of a write up on it? I have been out of the loop for so long it's easier to ask instead of spending a month digging into it. I remember finding some good discussions describing all the pitfalls and how it wasn't as straight forward as we all wished it was.

And why go auto? Cause my truck is getting to full blow crawler phase and a standard is no bueno for off-road.

Having to ride the clutch to start on an incline or stalling it and having to bump it. Having to hold the clutch and break and gas at the same time.

It's just not efficient and an auto would make it a lot easier to control and better for most situations.
