    I'm looking at going up in tires in the near future. Considering 255/85s and 285/75s.

    Can y'all post up your reg cab pics of these two sizes?

    I like the idea of 255s because less rub. But 285s look so nice.

    Here's mine on 265s. They look stock...

    Different wheels will make those 265's look less stock...........265/70/16 on 16x8 with different backspacing than oem.....less stock looking...........

    What's your rear suspension setup? What are you switching to? I saw on your box in the "2nd gen what have you done today" thread that it said "under the axle mounting kit"? What does that mean, and why would you switch to an under the axle?

    I have often wondered why everything is spring under axle down under, and most things sold here is spring over.

    SOA= more droop

    SUA= more uptravel

    Basically. Yes both can pull good numbers and blah blah blah

    But solid axle crawlers go SOA because it puts the leafs springs up out of the way of rocks = more ground clearance and you can get stupid droop.

    Most people go SUA for go fast desert stuff because they don't need the ground clearance , helps stuff tires aka uptravel , and it helps with axle wrap as well for when you're on the gas and hitting the whoops.

    That's from my own personal experience and view. Google may bring up 27,193,052 reasons why one is Better than the other but that's my one opinion if it matters any lol.

    OME 3" lift MK6 wheels 285 Fierce MTs & 4.88s!!
    With a manual, I'd go 4.56. Auto needs 4.88s. I would be tempted to go 4.88 with the manual, but I like low end grunt and don't care, at all, about MPG.

    Average Auction value based on sales values it at $13,500. That sounds like a fair deal, but you will have to calculate the cost of the tires and maintenance repairs.

    $15K sounds in line with what I saw when I was looking. But check out all the lift stuff closely, the worn out stuff could cost $1-2K to replace with new parts. See if you can get a detailed list of the specific lift parts like springs, shock, add-a-leafs, UCA, LCA's usually have the bolts frozen in the bushings, etc.
