Going back to my question on 285 75 16:

Seems like only load rating offered in this size is E for most of the big brands.
Should I expect a much stiffer ride with E rated tires because of how light our trucks are?
My current wildpeak at3w are D rated

Yes. I have aired down as far as 8psi and the tire still doesn't flex all that much. Wouldn't have it any other way tho as I only trust an E tire on the types of trails up here.

Good to know, I've read similar sentiments on here. So in your opinion, the E rating is worth the extra weight/stiffness for the peace of mind?
How uncomfortable are they on your average paved road?

The areas I wheel also have sharp tire shredding rocks and I've seen alot of flats. With how little I commute I'm not overly concerned with a slightly harsher ride.

Yes absolutely worth it to me. The ride is harsher for sure, and probably compounded from my 5100's. Just something you have to weigh for yourself.
The short wheel base of the regular cab doesn't make for a smooth ride in the first place. I don't mind, love my little truck. If we go places on pavement were taking the Corolla anyway.

More mods are happening soon, gonna order some 35" fallen wildpeak MT01's, Regear with Arb locker, and shocks getting rebuilt and tuned at accutune. I'm deploying soon and my truck is still at home in Hawaii, before I ship it here my brother is gonna get all the work done while I'm overseas so let's hope for the best. 5:29's are what I want but are out of stock by the looks of things, would 4:88's be enough with 35's?

That's what I was thinking but I wasn't sure if it was over kill, the older trucks seem good on 4:88's but I always prefer to gear a little deeper

I know a few guys running 35's on their 4-cyl, and i had a sas'd 1st gen i used to daily on 37's with the lil 3rz and the thing drove like my 2nd gen on 31's. just never got brave enough to get it past 75 lol it was geared 5:29 and even on 37's it felt super deep and would spin the tires

Lol lucky for me im a seabee so this base is pretty empty and i have my eyes on a lot not far from the barracks that has two trucks in it, my shock rebuild is gonna be pretty expensive because i need to get a few parts replaced in the process so its about 1000 bucks but i still think its worth it with the dual flutter stack revalve and all their other fancy touches, plus viton seals help. Im on the fence on wether or not ill be getting falken wildpeak MT01's or another set of KM3's mt01's price is hard to beat but the km3 is a really great tire. Ill keep the thread up to date as parts ship. hopefully the bigger parts dont do what my last orders from tacomabeast are doing, they are sitting at the warhouse still 2 weeks later

Found some brand new (0 miles) 245/75/17 Duratracs mounted on some 4Runner rims on FB marketplace for cheap! Went for a little gravel drive in the hills after mounting them. The truck definitely feels sluggish with the +1 from the stock wheel but not at all bad and not at all worth griping about. I do, however, have a pretty scary steering wheel wobble around 45-50mph... I made an appointment with Discount to get them re-balanced. I'm just hoping its not because of a bad rim or something, that would be a bummer.IMG_1747.jpg

This is my 1996 2.7 single cab leaving the car wash. Upgrades are 2018 TRD wheels and ARE topper. I'm working on a bilstein 5100 swap and rear camper setup. I'll keep you updated and thanks for everything!
