    Long story:
I had a 2014 DCSB OR AT. Her name was Tina. I was talked into trading her and the wife runner in for a tundra …(I’ll spare you the details on why). We then then traded back into a 2019 DCSB sport and a Camry. The 3rd gens are NOT THE SAME… and I miss Tina. I have been on the hunt for a reg cab for about 3 years now.
since I can’t stand this 2020 DCSB TRD OR 6MT… it’s the catalyst!
Back to a 2nd gen, and a reg cab!

To answer the primary question; I’m worried that either the high miles or the AT will somehow not fill the void.
So, I ask the subject matter experts. Those who have one! I could get the 2012 tomorrow by 10am… the 2013 is an 8hr drive and some shenanigans with selling a 2020 DCSB TRD OR manual.

Ah ya that’s definitely understandable and quite the route to an RC haha.

Realistically I think it really comes down to the quality of the truck I wouldn’t be turned off from the 120k. However, if the 60k truck is closer and makes more sense for you then go for it.

The last thing I’d like to stress though is the AT v MT. I’ve had both and the AT really is miserable to drive on the highway and not to mention if you are thinking of larger tires it’s really not gonna be fun. Just don’t want you to try and fill a void the truck isn’t going to deliver on.

Good luck on the search and post up if you find something.

And this right here… is why I love TW! Thank you to all who shared! I’ll keep you posted, even if it’s the AT!

Had an 06 MT with buckets SR5 and just wish I could buy another one identical to it. The MT has a lower gear ratio than the AT. 225,000 miles of use and it still ran perfect with the exception of frame rust next to the cat in the exhaust.

The AT will be sluggish compared to the MT but if you get a throttle booster the AT will feel a lot better.

I haven't driven an AT, but I love the MT in mine. I would go with a MT especially if you plan to go larger tires in the future.

Finally took her off road after 2 years of ownership. Was definitely surprised at how capable it is.

Agree with this. MT is the way to go if you can. Running 33" wildpeaks on mine and got no problems with power. If you are expecting to win any stop light races though be careful cause you'll be disappointed.

I love my auto with it's bucket seats, but I regeared to 4:88s on 265/75-16s.
A manual would be great though. Especially if you don't drive long distances and are not old and fat like me.

I'm really jealous of the bucket seats. I can't stand the bench seat. I can't lean back more and when my girlfriend drives, my knees are in the dash lol. Also, I still need to add cruise control

Cruise is mostly easy. You just have to add one random wire from the column to the ecu.

If I get this AT Reg cab maybe we can do a seat swap. I’ll take the bench all day!

where is the thread for adding cruise!?

I see no problem with swapping! I've been trying to find wrecked tacomas but not successful, at least locally. Trying to be budget friendly lol.

You have to dig deep to find the thread/threads with info for the single cab cruise mod, but it exists.
