What's your gripe with the 5100s? Do they ride too stiff?

Better than stock, but the 6112s are a lot better for not a lot more

Is anyone here in the south east interested in selling theirs? I’ve been trying to buy one for like a year now and haven’t found many. I’m looking for one with 4wd and around 125,000 miles or less. Preferably manual, but fine with a automatic. I’ll pay pretty a decent price for one :)

    preferably 2010+

I’m new to this forum as I’m in the process of buying a 2012 RC 4x4 with 75k on it. I have a question for the tire/rear gear swap peeps that know. The previous owner ran 285/75/16 on it for 4k miles but did not change the gears. Would that damage anything is my question. The dealer is replacing the tires with 265/70/16s because the other tires were rubbing hard on the drivers side top arm. Thanks in advance for the sharing the knowledge.

Nah, it shouldn't have hurt anything. Just would have been really slow and sluggish. Good luck with it and congrats! I would put 265/75/16s on it though...they look better and won't rub.

The dealer “couldn’t find any that size”. Whatever. When I get it I’ll probably change the rims, tires and do some of the cool mods I’ve seen on here. After six 4runners, I’ve always wanted one of these regular cab 4x4s like I had in 91. Thanks for the info MKW.

Nope. My 2013 is a manual and a friend has a 2012 manual. The third gens with a 2.7L 4 banger only come with queer gears though.AE3B5828-17E0-4DFA-9FC7-2DFC9790D79A.jpg

yes i know, what im saying is the auto didnt come till 2011, manuals always been here. For the first gens auto was available every year but theyre harder to find as most people wanted the 5speed, harder to find in 2nd gens as they were only offered from 2011-14.

    Ideally I’d want a 2010+ so that’s why I said that.

Manuals have a bench seat and autos have buckets.

My truck is an auto and the PO (I'm second owner) ordered it with buckets and a sliding rear window. I thought autos came with buckets or a bench depending on which was ordered.

Yeah I think that’s accurate. Here is a picture from KBB and it shows a 2014 with a auto and a bench seat.

Yeah the autos came standard with buckets and the manuals standard with the bench but you could order it with the bench or bucket. My 97 4x4 has buckets, my 01 rwd reg cab has a bench, so I think this only is for 4x4’s.

My standard cab 2006 SR5 manual 4x4 came with the buckets, center counsel, rear sliding window, color keyed front bumper and chrome rear bumper, towing package and color matched fender flares.

I think the bench was cheaper, and the manual trans was probably also cheaper.
