I have had my SR5 regular cab since 2013, and have seen quite a few others on the road over the years. I wish I stopped and took a picture, but I saw the twin to my truck out driving as well (Indigo blue, SR5 regular cab)!

Wish I still owned it.. the frame rusted out and I missed the frame recall deadline by two weeks because I was in the hospital for cancer treatment. When I sold it off it had 225,000 miles and still ran perfect with only simple maintenance done during the entire ownership. Best vehicle I have ever owned in my 50 years of driving.

It rusted thru near the cat converter on passenger side. The upper midwest salt eats Tacoma frames daily.. Dealer did a half assed job checking it six months earlier. When I got out of the hospital I took a ball peen hammer to it and find out right away where it was bad. That is what a good dealer did to my 2000 and found the rust right away.

My 2000 Standard cab had the same issue and Toyota, at that time, purchased it back for 150% Kelly blue book with 195,000 miles for $11,500. I hated loosing that one too.

Our 07 has Buckets and a center console. I swapped out the light gray carpet for dark gray.
Also added leather to the console lid, door panels and shift boot, factory leather wheel & knob, cruise, wipers, backup camera in aftermarket JVC Head Unit w/ Infinity baby amp, powered sub (mounted on back of cab) and alarm w/power locks…

I also changed the carpet in my truck from light grey to dark grey. PO was a carpenter and had a dog, the old carpet was stained and smelled.
I also replaced the dashboard (paint was peeling around the defrost vents, T-SB-0225-12) and center console from dark grey to light grey to match the rest of the interior.

Just picked up my 2012 from the dealer. I told my credit card it might want to start stretching. Always wanted one of these but bought FJ’s and 4Runners instead. It has 75,000 miles and nothing is leaking, no rust but does have a few little dents and mountain pinstripes. Nothing a good buff can’t fix. I’ve about 400 pages of this thread and live in the Rockies so will follow the Colorado links as well. Cheers!

Oh, one more thing is you guys w/ a 2TR FE 2.7L really should look into one of these once Magnuson is able to get them to the vendor so the vendor can produce and sell the kits! The wheel HP & FtLb is below…

In the 2nd gen RC SR5's came with buckets standard. I believe all autos came with buckets standard up until 2013 (could be optioned with a bench). 2013-2014 models came with benches and there was no option for buckets.

2013 automatics got the buckets with console. I can't imagine driving a manual truck with a bench seat. My old 1990 V6 reg cab pickup had a bench with the 5 speed and the first thing I did was find some SR5 buckets to put in that truck.

I saw a 2011 RC at the gas station with 306,000 miles today. I was talking to the owner. I asked home if he ever had any issues with it. He said he had to replace the alternator a few years back and was about to put a new clutch in it, but that was it.

Does anybody think Toyota will make a regular cab truck again? I know GM dropped the reg cab short bed Silverado/Sierra after 2018 but it looks like the Silverado RCSB is coming back for 2022. I have no need for an access cab and I hate the 8' long beds so a reg cab with a 6-6.5' bed is what I really prefer.
