Does anyone else feel like the single cabs are the closest we can get to a 70s series? Both have a bulletproof motor, no frills and just the bare necessities

@IEsurfer my wife and I say that all the time. Reminds me of my dad’s 64 Chevy minus the air conditioning.

Thats kind of a bummer to hear. I have been looking into the ovrlnd campers which are very similar. I'm on 265/75r16s and stock gearing and its rough when the wind is against me I start getting like 14 mpg on the interstate.

Can't you see that huge flashing neon regret sign? I can see it from here in Barbados......don't do it man! Start from scratch with whatever else you think you want or need but keep that truck.

I'm on 285/75-16s mud terrains with the 4.88s. Habitat on I averaged 15-15.5 mpg on road trips, so mostly highway. Mid height fiberglass shell and I'm now averaging 18.5-19 mpg in similar conditions.

I would agree with this if the owner has something else to drive and can wait at least a year, probably more, to buy something else. If this is sold and something else is immediately bought, then the earnings are mostly a wash since they've gotta pay a high price to replace it.

And just an FYI I pulled out the light gray carpet and before I installed new dark gray carpet I installed this to the floor (where the factory didn’t have sound deadening) and back wall. Just take your time, clean and roll it on good and you be shocked on the difference in sound.

    https://www.amazon.com/Noico-deadening-Automotive-Insulation-dampening/dp/B00URUIKAK?crid=WLRU655BWII2&keywords=sound+deadener+for+cars&qid=1651931367&sprefix=Sound+%2Caps%2C213&sr=8-21

I then used 3M spray adhesive to glue on carpet to the back. This is what I ended up with! They are a pain to get in and out of but Oh so comfy as I drove 3.5 hours yesterday before getting out. There was no butt cheek lifts from an uncomfortable seat. They are FRS, BRZ, Toyota 86 seats on Planet seat brackets. I looked for Tacoma sport seats but these were less than half of OE Tacoma seat!

I want those seats. How did you handle the airbag lights and seat rail sensors?

The 07 doesn’t have air bags in the bench seat. Believe it or not the driver seat is plug & play. The passenger seat is another story. From what I understand I need to find the two wires out of the nine wire plug to fit in a 3 ohm resistor to fool the system into turning off the airbag light in the dash.
So that’s a damn GOOD question!
Any advice I’m all ears as the truck is still in Lake Havasu having the Heltech installed and turned for the Magnuson supercharger. Apparently the Heltech system has injectors too because I got a call asking what happened to the injectors…

I recently installed these 265/75/16 tires and rims on the RC tacoma. Bought them used on FB marketplace. Tires are brand new and rims are American Racing. Had to remove the front mud flaps as they where rubbing. 5-speed, 74K, 2.7L

Good luck, even 4 banger Pre-runners are going for $3k more than High Book‼️ No wonder why when I gave a price of $25k for our 15 SR-5 Access cab w/ 2.7, 5 spd & 28k on the clock the guy jumped on it! The guy keep saying just give me a price I’m a cash buyer. I told him 5 times it’s not for sale, but he would not stopped asking so I gave him a price of $25k. Sadly I sold it to him 5 days later and this is what he did with it. He said is neighbor wants to buy it now and offered more than he paid for it. He said his neighbor has a new F-450, said he’s spending to much on fuel. :frusty:
