Yeah this looks great. Whats the wheel and tire setup? Also are you on stock suspension with it?

Valve cover gasket going bad? If so, what should I prepare to pay for a fix?

Nice looking truck! I miss my old 2013 but the lack of power and bad gas mileage was tough to get past. I recently picked up a new Bronco with the 2.7 twin turbo and it makes me wonder why Toyota won't put a real engine in the Tacoma and make a reg cab. My 2 door Bronco is the shortest vehicle I've ever owned and it pulls down good mpg with 35" tires.

The Taco still looks wayyy better :D

I have thought about an upgrade but I would probably stay in the family and get a T4R

I do miss having a pickup for throwing stuff in the back, but now I don't have to help out friends/family like I used to do. I wanted to get a newer truck before they implement the impaired driver technology in 25 and since Toyota doesn't make a reg cab pickup it wasn't an option. I have no need for an extended cab and don't want one. None of the truck makers offer a reg cab in the smaller trucks, just GM and Ford offer the full size reg cab short bed and I don't really care for either of them. I may get another Tacoma someday but the reg cab trucks aren't getting any younger.

I'm getting around 18 with everyday around town driving and 21-22 on the highway. That's with the factory 4.7 gears and 35" tires. My Tacoma got 16 around town and 19-20 highway on 4.10 gears and 33" tires. The Bronco is a bit heavier and less aerodynamic and has 330 hp so the mpg is surprising.

Was your Taco an auto? My 5spd gets the same in town and about 17.5 mixed. Best I ever do on highway is 18.5 if I’m lucky and drive nice. But that’s with 32s and I also have a prinsu rack and cbi bumper so I know those are probably costing me close to 2mpg. I used to average 19 combined without those mods.

Yeah, it was auto, had 3" of lift, diff drop and the 33's. In the winter it was lucky to get 14 mpg with the winter fuel.

Pretty amped. Whipped up a 3/16” plate high clearance bumper over 2 weekends, and did fender chop to clear the 35’s. Previous bumper didn’t look good even though it was strong and did its job. Just proof you can build good looking stuff without spending thousands, still need to build fill plates for under the tail lights, and cap the end in the wheel well. Total for materials in this is about 250 bucks

Anyone with a lifted regular cab having an issue that I’m having? When I get up to about 50mph and up and let off the gas (doesn’t matter if I let it off instantly or feather it) I get a wind turbulence noise sounds like it’s coming from my driveshaft between the cab and bed. Now my dumbass didn’t correct the driveline after I lifted it and I have some toytech axle shims arriving today I hope that fixes it and I hope I didn’t toast my driveshaft

If it sounds like subtle grinding or crosswind it's probably the driveshaft after you lift it. The factory reg cab driveshaft seems to do this no matter what after the lift. If you don't have any actual vibrations, then I wouldn't worry about it. If you don't know what you're doing, shims will only make it worse.

I went through a whole big ordeal with vibrations but it ended up being a ton of different things. I'm now running a custom double cardan driveshaft and 2 degree axle shims. 0 vibes and the noise you're describing is gone. I'm not saying thats the exact solution for every situation but I believe the double cardan shaft helps tremendously if you are trying to get rid of that noise.
