After 10 years and a rusted frame replacement 2 years ago by Toyota, I finally traded in my 4 cyl reg cab for a new 4 cyl reg cab. I really love all the improvements but the base radio which is very complicated with the touch screen will take some time to learn . The instruction book for the radio is as big as the book for the truck .
Anyway, here is a picture of my new Taco:

^^^^^^^^^Congrats. Liking the gray with black trim. Don't forget to change the description of your truck from 03 to 13 under the user name.

Am beat after solo lift crap with hand tools and a dull hack saw. I will rest for many days. My new 100lb (literally) floor jack has effectively ruined my lower back haha.

Nice, same truck as me ;) does your truck make a louder ticking noise at idle when warned up to operating temp? Mine has done it since 1 mile but my 2010 didn't so I wonder if all newer models do it or I have a lemon.

I havn't driven the truck much yet but I will drive it more this weekend. I have 31 miles on it so far but have not noticed a ticking in the engine when I drove it home.
Have your service dept at Toyota take a listen. It may not be anything to be concerned about. The 2.7 is one of the most durable engines out there.

Yea I did they said it was normal but my 2010 didn't do it.. Sounds almost like an exhaust leak but it don't do it all the time, the sound is coming from drivers side

I just looked at the build of your truck and it looks great. You put alot of work into your truck and it shows.
I just gave my truck a clay bar and a coat of Klasse acrylic for winter protection. I use cannuba (P21S) in warmer weather. It can really make the color pop. What do you use for the plastic fender flares? It doesnt seem to take wax well.
Today I ordered an Extang tri-fold for the bed and a pop-lock for the tail gate. I had the dealer throw in a bed extender which I always used on my 03. Since the hood on my 03 rusted from stone damage, I am ordering a stone guard for my 13 with vent visors. Thats about all my wallet can afford right now. I really like your wheels. I have the base steel rims right now. I will upgrade the wheels soon and remove the tpms sensors which imo are a pia.

Thanks man. I used meguiars "ultimate black" on the fenders, almost any product will wash off after it rains, this seems to stay on longer than most i have tried. i got my rims off craigslist for 350 belive it or not there polished alum on the face but there super heavy. Ps if anyone with a 2012 or 13 needs weathertech floor liners i have a pair of brand new ones in box black im looking to get rid of, i orderd one set and they shipped me 2. 90 shipped save 10-20$

Nice to all the above posts.

I really need to detail my truck. Owned since July, washed her during the summer and stuff (not yet by hand, but in the do it yourself spray stall things).. never waxed :( I wish I had done that before winter but meh. Come on spring!

    Like that.

I seem to always get crap on my paint that simply won't come off. On my old car, it was like tree sap and black dots (definitely above the paint, not a chip). Fingernail, bug and tar gel, ninja tactics, clay bar, nothing would remove it. I have a couple on my truck already, and noticed them even a month after purchase. Protecting those with wax seems like a sucky idea hah.

I'll get aggressive with the sap or whatever it is this spring and then try and wax. Always enjoyed doing a Meguiars #7 glaze and used to use the #26 hi tech yellow wax til I found NXT - doubt it lasts as long but the ease of application and removal makes it winnaaar. Not really sure what product to use on my fender flares- never gonna paint my black trim / mirrors :p
