The 2-stroke thread

I have the FMF pipe and long & short silencer. I prefer the short silencer. I'm trying to locate a oem stock honda pipe & silencer for my 01 500, keep me in mind if anyone comes across one.

 

OK just finished another ride. Did I get it? 32-1 Clip position #2, air screw 1.5 turns out. Stock jetting.

yeah im surprised it broke.. but hey that's apart of the game. Ive got a new one which should be here tomorrow or thursday to go riding again saturday The 500 i have is fun but it's just a little to much for the trails.. Im not much of a fan of this older style frame either since it doesnt like to turn one bit lol.. Im going to pick up a yz250 whenever this sells and cruise it on that.


edit: not that i dont think the 500 is a great bike, but the desert and glamis are so far away and pismo doesnt do justice i just see no reason keeping it if it's not fun to ride.

 

Less than two weeks till I can ride again

I should probably finish rebuilding the other bike I bought too. And switch over the clutch basket and stuff to my bike

 

Just did back to back races on the YZ250 over the weekend, Saturday was Utah, jetting was waaay off or I have another problem (got 6th damnit!!) , drove overnight to Lucerne Valley (1600 miles total) and raced in the Rovers hare and hound where I placed 3rd Expert Open.

Next weekend is Last Dog Standing Extreme Enduro, 3rd year in a row. Hoping to win my class but Im gonna need more than hope, lol.

The gnarly hillclimb

 

Rode at Budds Creek today and it was a complete mud pit. I honestly can't remember ever riding a track that was in worse shape. But I still had a blast. Went over the bars once too and landed in a giant mud pit, but at least it was a soft landing.



Clean up is gonna be fun.

 

That's pretty muddy. How dirty was the rider? ha

 

Not too bad until I went head first through a mud hole.

 

How about some old school (for me) air. I was on an 02 CR125 jumping a 75' camelback table at VMP. Had to give it everything it had to make it over. 125s are a blast.

That's not too bad, at least you don't have a skid plate to catch it all. Southern Ohio after an ass load of rain is probably the worst mud I've ever experienced (enduro riding, not MX). I'm convinced that clay has a small amount of JB weld in it that allows it to stick to every surface of the bike. I think I spent 3 hours cleaning it after the last enduro I rode.

 

I have a glide plate on there with foam in between it and the motor. Works pretty well. I'll be washing it tomorrow, haven't had time. It's probably gonna take a while.

I did scrub my boots, Leatt, and cleaned my gear though.

 

Oh nice, I've been considering adding foam to mine. Does it work well?

 

Yeah it works pretty good. The foam keeps a lot of stuff out of there and it's easy to take it off to hose out. The plate is just there to protect in case you short a jump bad, or get rocks kicked up at the engine.

 

Sweet, I think I'll try it out.
