Nope, still run a 172 main, didnt need to change a thing oddly enough. Depending on riding type you might want to also consider a flywheel weight for more 4-stroke like power and better low end characteristics.

I heard that depending on elevation you may not have to touch it that's crazy but awesome. I debating getting A flywheel weight but I don't have a problem with the hit but I have never rode a 4 stroke either so maybe I should get one just to feel the difference, might help make me faster

He's being humble, IIRC he's done the 6 day trials in europe & if it still holds true it's by invitation only & I think he's done it twice..

Nice posts Speed Freek, I've always wanted to do a harescramble or the Elsinore gp (even if its not as cool now) just to get my feet wet.

I just picked up this yz 250 last week for a steal. I had a 250 just like it but then I was having too much fun on my 125 and the 250 was sitting so I sold it but now I have both again. This ones a little different with the desert tank, Rekluse, and Steering Stabilizer so im excited to take it out to the desert. The Rekluse alone will be fun to ride with and very different. Hopefully I can get the suspension on this one dialed in better than my last 05 I had. Hopefully going to get it revalved soon.

How do you guys like the Rekluse? Thinking about one for my cr500. I'm hoping it will make the 500 more fun in the tight trails.

This is my first bike with it, most people with them seem to love the Rekluse. I havent done much more than ride it around the block a few times but I think im going to really like it in the tight single trac type stuff

I have an AF500 with a Rekluse best thing I ever did to that bike hands down! I actually love that bike for Singletrack and tight stuff now. Do it you will be glad you did.

Nice bike, I race an 05 with 06 suspension with almost same mods as you except it has a 300 kit. Those YZs seem to do everything well, probably a reason it hasnt changed since 2006! If it aint broke....

Yeah, I was excited when it was listed as an 06 because of the sss suspension, and then I looked at the title and its another 05 again lol. Did you swap the suspension as soon as you got it or did you give up on the 05 suspension? Love the yz's and very fun bikes for sure, I think if I got the suspension dialed I would have never sold my last 250

I bought it with the 06 suspension already, so never even messed with the 05 stuff. I would have swapped it before I even raced if if I didnt have it already, the forks are where the big difference is. The rear shock is similar but with a different shaft diameter.

Yeah it seems shocks are pretty straight forward when it comes to tuning, but forks are where it gets tricky on these yz's. Im gonna mess with it a bit and see where I end up

Very clean! Im hoping mine will slowly look like that soon, planning on new plastics/graphics and a new pipe or a nice stock pipe and fmf silencer. Are your rims powdercoated or aftermarket?

I havent had bad luck with stock rim strength, but if I was stripping them all the way down and dealing with lacing and truing them again I would probably just get aftermarket excels that look way cleaner and are stronger. Clean bike though, where do you ride at mainly?
