For me the best rear tire (as far as traction is concerned) is the Dunlop AT-81 RC (reinforced carcass), best all around tire there is in the rear IMO, the front I tend to use the Bridgestone M403 or the new X30 (which replaced the M403)

Maxxis Desert IT lasts longer than other tires but at the cost of crappy traction, they dont hook unless you really run low air pressure, the Maxxis in the front is ABSOLUTE CRAP! Dont get one in the front.

For Havasu where its really sharp and rocky I tend to run a Maxxis Desert IT, since it holds up really well, but I ONLY use it there for longevity reasons.

However in all races I run the front Bridgestone M403 (or X30) and Dunlop AT-81 RC (120 width) in the rear and I am sponsored by Pirelli! But I run what works and I have run about every tire out there and those are my choices..

Some pics from the track yesterday!

yea i never considered knee braces until i effed up..
tore my acl/meniscus along with cracking my tibia plateau in dec of 2013:annoyed:

curious to ask, how long was the wait between the time it happened and surgery? i had to wait almost 2 months after the initial injury to have surgery.

I'm at 2 months a week. Have ortho again Tuesday. We were hoping it would heal up a bit but it got worse. At my age any un needed surgery I can avoid I will. Not riding isn't an option though. Been doing since I was a child on a Z 50 Honda. Hope it's just a scope deal and be done. Meniscus is not a big deal but the PCL needs fixed. Tib fib slides back a half inch almost. Really week knee now.

Had I not had a brace on it would have been broken tib/fib for sure.

I would invest in knee braces. I just had my surgery for acl tear and meniscus repair. Took 2 months since injury for the surgery.

Knee braces are an absolute for me, feel naked without them and can't afford to get hurt. Bought my asterisks in 2005 and just had them rebuilt this spring can't say how many times they have saved me.

i crushed my ankle out at glen helen during the worcs practice on friday. Decided to race on it saturday and just cruise the whole race which i did and worked that monday/Tuesday. i swore it was broken or at least fractured but somehow nothing was just very bad bruising after i went to the hospital Wednesday night. I was on crutches for a week and a half after but ive been walking now since monday. i still have a numb spot on the front part of my ankle where the little scabs/scrapes are but i went riding yesterday (couldnt resist the cool weather and rain the night before) and everything was good! Injuries suck but riding is so fun hahah!

That YZ250 pictured above has the 295 kit, I love it. I did get a bad cylinder from them at one point but they replaced it after I gave them hell. As far as the power goes it added a lot more torque, I got the Mo-betta porting option for all around power.

That is actually exactly the set up I am looking at going 295 with the all around porting I love the YZ thing is a blast but I just want more! Any jetting changes after the kit?

Nope, still run a 172 main, didnt need to change a thing oddly enough. Depending on riding type you might want to also consider a flywheel weight for more 4-stroke like power and better low end characteristics.

I heard that depending on elevation you may not have to touch it that's crazy but awesome. I debating getting A flywheel weight but I don't have a problem with the hit but I have never rode a 4 stroke either so maybe I should get one just to feel the difference, might help make me faster
