I keep hinting for a diy kit since its a lot of welding\labor for him and he didn't make much money on them, I could weld it myself and it would be cheaper for me and less labor for him. I know my welds aren't as pretty as his his but it will do the job.

I'm still teaching myself. Lol. I'm getting better. I think I'm just going to order a weld on and weld it up when I tear the rear apart.

Someone else can start a thread. I probably won't be able to confirm anything until right around Moab - either right before or after.

I would but the summer gets real busy for me. So I can't commit to dates.

The dirt trail closure for El Dorado NF was pushed back to April 9th. Once I get back from Moab, I will be running Slick Rock (depending on snow) end of April/beginning of May. I will post here if there interest. There will be another Hell Hole run as well, probably after Slick Rock. I have to make up for lost time wheeling last year.

    Old Coast Road. Prewitt Ridge.

Look for a copy of California Coast Byways by Tony Huegel. I'm pretty sure it's available for less than $66. But it's a great collection of short drives along the coast.

I'm pretty sure it's mid/late April to early May, but don't quote me on that.

If there's ever a TW Slickrock Run, I'd be interested. Need to get the truck off the street and get some wheeling in this year.

Tahoe NF should have just opened, according to the web-site.
    Anyone tried Bowman road lately?

Buddy of mine has been doing snow runs up there all winter, depends on what you consider open.

Someone said the same thing at last night's Expedition Portal meetup. The roads might be open but still lots of snow. They were talking about Loon Lake area.

The Loon lake area is El Dorado forest. Different forest, different rules.
EDNF recently extended the seasonal closure (primarily for non-paved roads) to April 9th.

Tahoe forest apparently has stuck to the April 2 date. I think Bowman is at a lower elevation than Loon.

Loon and Bowman are pretty close to the same elevation. Off by very little.
