Fuck it, let's smoke a turkey. Thanksgiving in August doesn't sound like a bad idea. And by Thanksgiving I mean Turkey and beer.

@Tee Arghhhhhh Dee I might actually be down for a night or two in Bowman. I work Sunday night, so I'd have to leave at some point before noon on Sunday. But if you wanted to camp Friday? or leave early Saturday I might be interested :D

Dammit. I have a Little Chief smoker I use at home and pre smoke earlier in the year and freeze. Was going to bring one of my chickens.
Now going to be put to shame.

I Plan on going a little early personally. Don't want this to get too big as the spot I'm hitting isn't the biggest and is popular, but, don't mined some GOOD company.

I usually just hit the main camp area. I haven't been up there yet where it's occupied.

I need to scout this area out. I have never been there but the videos are awesome. I have a large group to take camping in September and need to find a spot. Mind if the wife and I tag along?

So do I need to bring any sort of cooking stuff? Or just food? I've got a Coleman griddle and a Coleman camp stove (small grill and burner) I can bring along, or I can just bring plenty of meat and bread and stuff. Alcohol obviously...

I'd bring anything you've got. As much as I love sharing everyone likes to cook at the same time.

Hmmmm are fires allowed at the campground?

Do I need to make a reservation?

Does anyone want to Caravan early Saturday say 8ish or so?

Are we doing any trail runs around there, or just strictly camping. (So I know if I'm bringing lots of leisure camping stuff or packing for offroading lol)

Are there any trails around there lol?

There are some camp areas up there with fire rings, yes, they are in fire restrictions now, so better be at one. Most spots up there are paid areas also, some very few non paid.

Are they first come first serve or reservation?
I can't find any info on camping at Bowman. Am I too drunk already?

Sounds perfect. Who is up for a Friday afternoon evening run? Since I have never been there this could be an adventure.

Looking to go exploring/wheeling on Tuesday right after Labor Day with a night of camping involved with my Dad. I live in Sacramento. Can anyone suggest some good spots and trails? I was thinking Tahoe area maybe northwest of the lake near Truckee?
