I gotta pick your brain one of these days. For the baja trips we're looking to install a system with a bit more range in my truck. I'm thinking about joining a local ham club to learn more as well.

You might benefit from talking to a real ham guy as far as hitting repeaters and the like. From what I've heard about your Baja trips, summoning medical assistance that way might be important.

I was debating it, but seeing the pictures I wouldn't have made it far haha. Plus being sick didn't help.

So everything will be in on Tuesday. I have no clue how to program one of these so is this stuff we type in?

If you don't want to mess with the programming yourself, you can use the radio as it is, just key in the frequency you want to use at the time. This is what most people do.

Well I bought a programming cable as well. I'm sure I can figure it out. Just didn't know if it was as simple as typing in numbers

You would have made it if you stayed at the back of the group. And if you get stuck someone can always pull you out. Gotta get the 3rd gen trucks out so they don't get made fun of so much lol. Medal bends back in place and scratches will buff out lol

There is a bit of a learning curve...
    1. Download the CHIRP software.
    2. Use the attached file with the import function. This'll give you the frequency set I posted earlier.
