You have to be offered some to have the problem. Key point there....

Wondering about this too, will try tonight. Also wondering how this affects the 2->1 downshift issues.

No MAJOR bitch yet, other then the dealer not fulfilling the pre-delivery inspection such as checking the transmission fluid and U joints as I requested before driving away. So far so good, if the transmission melts down or the drive shaft flies off, it on Toyota dime as I made sure the dealership service manger understood. Other then that so far my main issue is has been with Toyota acclaimed Entune system which I think is a POS because it's firmware does not want to play nicely with Apple's iPhone and why is beyond me? It seem absurd to my small brain that you can spend 30K plus on a truck and if you have an Android phone no problem but you have a iPhone big problems which is more then absurd that the Entune software can't work with either OS systems without a problem. Come on Toyota surely you have software engineers that can write a firmware program that says if it is a iPhone system go here or a Android there and end up with the same results? Other then that my only other small bitches is the money spent on no electric seat controls or standard heated seats, really? Or rear SHOE rear brakes instead of disc, is this 2016 or 1916, come on Toyota lets step up to the modern age!

Ahhh .... I wish I had a 6s but since I hate giving more money to cell phone carrier I have only a old 4s which suites me fine. There is a subject topic here on the problems of Apple iPhones and Entune not playing nicely and if your interested you can look it up. Your one of the lucky ones to get Entune to play nice with your iPhone right out of the gate and I hope for your sake it stays this way for you. Still look how you don't have canned scripts that you can reply in messaging while if you have an Android phone you have all the full features of the Entune system and not all of the problems with that iPhone users have.

I never considered a manual. I test drove an auto and actually ordered one .. After reading this forum I switched go manual..

I love it.. Works great at 2500 miles!

I think if I got a auto I would make the dealer check the trans fluid.
Especially since I would order one with the tow package.

Tried cc on I-25 South at 70 and 80 MPH. I felt like it hunted less, but the tradeoff was it stayed in 4th most of the time. It would drop to 4th at the bottom of the hill, then stay in it over the top and even sometimes down the back of the hill. Should have gone back to 5th or 6th at the top of the hill IMHO.

My Bro's 2016 had a faulty blind spot monitoring sensor fail with less than 1k miles. He also started complaining about the transmission being possessed and shifting all the time.

Maybe its better that it ended up at the junk yard. He is going to wait for the 2017 TRD Pro before considering another 3rd gen.

It was programmed to 'gear hunt' the way that it does to achieve the fuel numbers. Some people get used it, some just can't, and some (I'm willing to bet most) people are simply not bothered by it.

Question: the 2016 auto has a 'manual' feature that lets you select your gears, right? Does that seem to help anyone that's bothered by the auto's behavior or does it override your choices when you shift it manually?
