I actually have a jeep now. Imagine that.
I tend to agree. I am hoping there were a lot of drive train considerations more than anything though.

    Here's to hoping I guess.

I haven't seen any mention of the sun roof. I already thought the roof was pretty damn flemsy. Maybe there is significant cab work done.

Looks like a bigger interior. Need pics! Dimensions! Engine and transmission details!

Still have to wait for next week. This is like getting an early peek at Christmas presents and seeing them in plain brown boxes. With weird air dams.

Looks like they've taken all the Tundra's ugliest features, scaled them down to Tacoma size and put them on a second gen. I really hope that they have some changes in the drivetrain but after seeing that it has rear drums my guess is that they will slightly update what we have now, nothing radical. Also they will probably use this trend as an excuse to kill the manual tranny option. I'm not a fan, but I'm sure some of the members on here will be able to make them look nice.

I guess I need to make my 08 last another 10-15 years until the next redesign. It seems now a days, you either choose (ugly or unreliable) when purchasing a new car. (Toyota vs competition)

LOL @ all the haters, I guess that is to be expected. People want change, but hate it when they get it.

In all honesty, it doesn't look THAT much different. But I think that is a good thing. It's still under-styled, which means it will look good 10 years from now. It still has the same general angles and proportions as the current truck.

    Y'all are funny...

Wow, so many negative Nellies. I'm anxious to see what the mechanical and tech upgrades may be as well as the interior. I'm not 100% sold on the front end from the pics, but the more I look at it, the more comfortable I am with the look. Have to see it in the other trims and different colors. And in person. Geez, some of you need to relax. To each their own, if you don't like it, then don't buy it.

People we are in 2015. We are not in the 1980s nor 1990s anymore. Anyone expecting the same truck from Back to the Future , guess what is, not going to happen. I think it looks awesome

I am going to see everyone of the people that are bashing on the looks and front end and anything else buying one of these. It is the same history with every model that comes out and I bet you it will still sell well regardless of looks because people buy these trucks not for looks but because for the money is the best damn RELIABLE small truck you can get.

The only reason think I won't like it is because it looks a lot like the tundra, and the tundra hasn't grown on me at all since it's redesign.

Surprised it isn't the size of an F150 with bed sides 6' high.

Bet the frame is still inadequately coated.

I agreed with you on this.

Stop the HATING people. Change is ALWAYS different. Your vehicle is GOOD but something NEW can be BETTER.

I like NEW things and I like the look so far. 2nd Gen is a GREAT vehicle so it is hard, very hard to beat that. Just give it a chance.

TRD BAJA Suspension...Rims and tires, blackout badging, TRD oil filler cap, front skid plate, N-Fab step bars, GrillCraft custom upper and lower grills. K&N air filter, TRD Supercharger.

I agree with this statement, there are just a couple of things I don't like; but one thing which nothing can be done about it - and that is the abrupt transition from rear/side of cab into the truck bed. Maybe a darker color such as black; will negate the obvious characteristics.

The grille, the lights - both front and rear I am sure will have plenty of mods available or aftermarket stuff to please those who aren't happy with this offering. I am still excited to see what the Sport or TRD OR version will look like as far as the grille design goes.

Yes, it does look more like Tundra's little brother, and I think that is O.K. Here in Texas, the Tundras are selling very, very well and it is just a matter of time before we all become acclimated to the 2016 Tacoma.

What is really important is how this new truck performs, both on and off road, and what creature comforts and gadgetry have been upgraded for those into such things.

I just think the front end looks too "busy" with its mish-mash of transitions, angles, and the hideous lower valence. But we must remember, if MPG's are so important to so many buyers here, then Toyota has done what the engineers have found to be beneficial in testing.

I truly think the best is yet to come when we see the interior changes, the engine and powertrain specs, towing capacity; and all the other little things we haven't seen yet....things that add up.

If the engine performance matches or slightly out-performs the Colorado and Canyon offerings, then I believe Toyota has done what they aimed to accomplish.

Would like to see one that is the TRD Sport. Give me color matching before I judge. Not sure why Chrome is a 'limited' option, considering how awful it is.

And wtf is with that lower lip on the front bumper...

Hey - I actually wanted something NEW. I owned a 2006 (don't any more). I was waiting to buy a truck that was a real upgrade from what I got 8 years ago.

But the exterior of this is NOT new. It is a pile of mismatched plastic on the same tired old cab. That is what I don't like. It looks like Toyota is just trying to keep an old model alive by adding fake vents and a grill. That, to me, is lame.

We will see what the rest of the upgrades are, but all we have to go on is the exterior, and right now, it's looking pretty weak to me. Sorry, but that's my opinion. And you're right, I don't have to buy one. Yesterday, I thought I would, but last night, I realized I probably won't.
