I think with a Satoshi grille and a sport version it will look better, but I'm fine with the way it looks now.

I like the 2016 so far, the only 2 things id do if i had one is trim/remove that front lower valence, and change/mod the taillights. Them baby's are SCREAMIN for a BTLM.

Interested to see if they kept the 4.0, and by any miracle they maybe kept the manual trannys an option :burnrubber:

Full redesigns make me nervous, look at what nissan did to the pathfinder for example :puke: :puke:

I'm a little disappointed after those two sexy teaser shots we were just shown. It doesn't look TOO bad, but I was really expecting a knockout. I'm really hoping for good news on the engine and transmissions more than anything though. MPG is the only gripe I really have with my '11, and with the current price of gas and my dwindling loan balance, it's much easier to live with.

I'm hoping it turns out like the new 4Runner though. The first pictures looked abominable, but in person I love that front end. We'll see soon enough.

From that article one guy said>>> "Looks like a much less aggressive looking version of the 05-11...no thanks."

Seriously? The 2012+ front end looks MORE aggressive than the other models. People are strange lol

If there's any truth to this ad though, and you can tear around in mud and safely do jumps in your stock limited edition, I'll be quite a bit more interested.

I have been lurking for a while and finally decided to register after the reveal of the 2016. It is so funny to read everyone's initial reaction. Mostly negative which is kinda surprising to me. Same basic shape and lines. Different looking front ends and back ends. I don't mind the back end. Someone mentioned it has too much plastic and I agree with that. Now the front end is a bit different. That grille is hideous but completely fixable. Let's not forget they will most likely have a TRD Pro with a different grille. Anything will be better than what is shown here. The only two aesthetics that bother me are the grille and the plastic air dam below the bumper. Both very changeable. Other than that the truck is very similar in appearance to the 2nd gen with some subtle similarities to a Tundra. All in all, it's more of a facelift than a redesign. Exterior wise. Maybe the true redesign lies under the hood and inside? Here's to hoping.

I have always wanted a Tacoma, since the first gen. I just couldn't afford it when I was looking for my first car back in 06. Now I am in the market and I am glad I waited. I am curious to see how long the aftermarket parts take to start rolling in. That may be the deciding factor for me on purchasing a 2016 over a 2017. I'm all in for a 3rd gen assuming the drivetrain, engine, and interior are all improved.

It does look like they spent some time on areodynamics for better mpg: Air dam below the front bumper, no traditional AM/FM radio antenna (thank you!), windshield washer nozzles no longer in the hood (thank you!), and updated windshield wipers. See attached picture.

Also a couple pictures better showing the sunroof, and clearly 18" rims not 20" as some people/articles have stated.

I'm most interested in whats motivating this Tacoma however. Direct injection 3.5 V6 from the Lexus IS with updated VVT-iW (fingers crossed)? I certainly hope they didn't waste time and money on developing an automatic transmission with just one additonal gear. Toyota was one if not the first to offer an 8sp auto (Lexus car). Other manufactures are now doing the same and more (9sp ZF autos in FCA vehicles).

The cab sheet metal looks very similar, other than the addition of the sunroof. Bout time.

Decent so far, I'm sure it'll grow on the neigh-haters. Nice that the tailgate looks much thicker.

Looking forward to seeing what's new under the sheetmetal including drivetrain and interior.

I hope that purdy '15 on the dealer lot I pass everyday will drop in price once the 3rd gen becomes available.

Don't care for differing opinions ?

The rear looks like a 98 dodge dakota. The side side of the front end looks like a 4 runner. Nothing original about this truck in my opinion. The least they could have done is to put disc brakes on the rear.

I'm fine with differing opinions, it's mostly the ones who are like "Holy hell it's the ugliest fucking thing I've ever seen" < Those are the ones I find funny.

They need to get rid of the black plastic piece under the bumper it makes it look too rounded. The fog lights look like they could be the headlights.. I like the rear look simple yet updated.. Its weird for me now but im sure itll grow on me just not enough to buy it
