Well it's not a total train wreck. I'm just really happy we didn't get something like that dumb ass Hilux spy shot that came out a couple months back.

I personally think were looking at the top-of-the-line grocery getter model here. I'm sure the TRD models will be bulky or more to our liking. Ditching all the chrome, adding some black Fender flares, and putting on some real tires on will go a long way to make this look like a proper truck.

I like it as well. The more you see them and the more you get accustomed to the redesign, you will start to like them as well. It's always hard to accept change when the Taco has looked the same for a decade.

I think my biggest disappointment aside from that stupid front valance is thinking a whole new design actually meant a whole new design. I prefer my 2013.

I don't think the criticism is so much by the look but in the promise that Toyota said "all new" and the 2016 looks like all they did was take a 2015 and put a slightly different nose and tail on it. Really it's about the lack of effort that Toyota put into an "all new" truck

So they moved the tacoma emblem and reshaped the window and sheet metal, again, what makes more sense a cab that looks exactly like the 2nd gen with some tweaks or a cab that looks exactly like the 2nd gen that toyota spent all this money on to add an inch or two have it not flow at all with the rest of the truck and again look just like the previous gen, same frame, remember the test mule with the different exhaust, tranny, and interior pieces but same cab and frame?. logic dude. try it sometime. Your name calling in all the threads is starting to make you look like quite the ass.

It's not worth arguing about folks. Re-design can mean different things to many people. The fact that you cannot swap a front fender, a grille, hood or a door panel from a 3rd Gen Tacoma onto a 2nd Gen Tacoma does mean that the 3rd Gen is different, and what does "different" mean? It means that it is not the same....it has been re-designed.

We will know what we all need to know as soon as tomorrow.

I actually have a jeep now. Imagine that.
I did notice the models at the show both had giant a-pillar oh-shit-handles.

You know, I was thinking that exact opposite, I wonder who'll do the first gen 2 to gen 3 front clip conversion.

YUP. I'm still not crazy about the front end on this truck, but it is starting to grow on me.

There are only two things I don't like about my 16' #1 6-speed auto tranny with "ECT". When your turn the ECT off it turns it into a closer ratio tranny and feels like it should power wise. #2 THE 6-SPEED AUTO TRANNY!! The engine is good, it's needs to be opened up but other than that it's good.
