Hope to see some some positive results, any input OP as to what they may have done at a high level and how that may impact transmission performance?

I'm on mobile so I'll keep this short. Just had the flash done... She drives like a dream! Noticeably more power "off the line" and gear hunting dramatically reduced. Falling in love with her AGAIN!

Oh man! Mine is slated to be done on Monday I am hoping to see all the good I have been hearing as well! It's a pretty easy fix right? My dealer was like 'uh you are the first one to find this and for us to perform so it may take longer than the slated half hour' uhhhhbh ya made me a bit nervous haha!

I hope people can be TRULY OBJECTIVE about their feedback and resist the desire to post results based on placebo.

That's why I am hoping someone who routinely drives the same route with CC on and has the hanging 4th gear issue every time at a specific location will be able to drive that same route with CC on and recognize any difference. I don't commute with my truck so my evaluation may not be as accurate until I am able to go on a longer, out of town drive after mine is done next week.

I'm dropping it off Monday. I'm pretty pessimistic given Toyota's EMD effort on the 3rd gen. It better be substantially better or I'm going dump this one (my 4th Tacoma). I've also owned two 4runners so throwing the towel at Toyota for me is a big change. My fear is that they have turned into the GM of the 90s.

    We'll see

Exactly my thoughts. Like the people who have half a quart of transfluid added and swear their trucks drive like a dream now. I'll bet those same guys will be demanding this update. I had fluid added by the dealership, ECU flashed/erased and what not and still didn't notice a life changing difference in the way my truck drives from before. We;ll see what happens on Tuesday when I am scheduled to have the 10k service done and bring up this TSB.

No it will be over a week before I have an opportunity to test it, IF they perform the update this next week while I'm on vacation.

Can't believe you wouldn't cancel your vacation to get the update.

I dont have a whole lot to compare to with such low miles, under 500. I did go up a long shallow uphill grade that I have done a few times as an apples to apples comparison. Before tsb it would downshift to 4th and hold it all the way to past the crest of the hill. After tsb it took the entire hill in 6th. My mpgs already appears to have increased based on the initial trip average 18.6 vs the previous trip of 16.2 on the same highway drive. Both were with cruise on and I know it was better mpgs because the majority wasn't in 4th.

After 20 miles my tank average has dropped .3 mpg to 18.5 mpg. At half a tank, it normally stabilizes at 18.8.

I use to be able to replicate the slight delayed gear engagement by being quick off the brake and on the gas. I haven't been able to do it.

On a particular hill, I use to get a 6-4-5-4-5-6. Hit it twice and got a 6-5-6.

    SUBJECTIVITY WARNING!!!
Lugging feeling in 6th under slight load has been diminished a lot.

Shifting in general is a lot smoother.

Yes, yes I did. I'm pretty sure we're in the same business.

    Enjoy the V time, man.

I plan to have the tsb done to help with the shift from r to d and excited to see if anything else is better.

Dropping mine off tomorrow Saturday July 16 for first service 4956 miles. No trans problem so far, but mine does have CZ5AN which is one of TSB's
I will also have them check to see if the trans fluid is low
FYI my service appointment is at Fremont Ca Toyota
    Got my fingers crossed
