I love my 2nd gen but I also always hated the wheel well shapes, it's always bothered me. It always reminds me of the Colorado. I love everything about the 3rd gen, except of course the grill. If they jus t stopped the grill at the bumper like a normal truck! I love the normal shape of the wheel wells and flares though.

Haha...list of improvements Toyota needs to implement on the 4th Gen:

    --Lose the ginormous grille
--Shrink it back down to 1st Gen size
--Ditch the IFS and stick a solid front axle in there on the 4WD models (with an option for manual locking hubs)
--4.5L engine (or better yet, have an option for a diesel with similar performance numbers to Dodge's Ecodiesel)
    --front and rear mechanical lockers
    --manually shifted t-case
    --etc...

Heck, I think they should develop that diesel for the 3rd gen. It'd get some hella good fuel mileage and it'd out-perform any engine they've ever put in a Tacoma.

That sounds like a dream. TW would have even more noobs then the 3rd gen forum! Hahaha! Hell they have the Prius to offset the fuel economy average. The damn US emission standards are keeping the diesel out, same with Honda, its bullshit.

If Dodge can do it with that Eye-talian diesel in a full sized 1500, then Toyota can do it with a Tacoma. IMHO, they just don't want to spend the jack to develop it. It'd be even more amazing if they got into bed with Caterpillar to develop it. :D

Dodge is claiming 29 mpg in a full-sized truck with that Ecodiesel. I can only imagine that in a Tacoma, it'd be getting over 30 mpg. Plus it's putting out 240 hp with 420 ft-lbs of torque. It's crazy. It'd be an awesome off-road engine in a Jeep (or a Tacoma).

But yeah, it's all an impossible dream. :pout:

Ain't that the truth. I know I've got CRS, so I might not recall correctly, but I don't even think you were there for that one Spencer. I thought you were busy fixing your fan when Brian made his declaration...and yet you'll never forget it.

It's all in good fun though.

Haha...good times! That's why this group is so fun.

Don't worry though, it'll pass in time. We hardly even mention Frank's dramatic SoCo-inspired recounting of the Tragedy of Billy anymore. :D

I wasn't aware of the no fund me policy on TW. I was willing to lend a helping hand to a fellow brother. Your on point with everything that happens in this world of Tacomas.
