    I considered that. Wouldn't be as much fun for me and it wouldn't really save me any cash. If the T4R didn't have a set of dry-rotted highway tires on it, I might try to sneak off with it for this trip, haha, but I'd wind up in the dog house for the foreseeable future if I tried that. :eek:

    Hmmm...now that I'm thinking about it, I could probably swap the starters...:devil:

    You can get a new plunger and contacts for 15 bucks, super easy rebuild.

    Something from the dealership is reasonably priced? When said parts would prevent the sale of a much more expensive complete unit? That just doesn't compute. :rofl:

    K, I'm looking at the contacts on Toyotapartsdeal.com. They don't have the plunger listed, but the contacts are $14.45 and $11.52 respectively (they list for $20.03 and $15.98, which I assume is what the stealership would want for them).

    Guy, if you know where to get the contacts and the plunger for $15, I'm all ears. :popcorn:

    I did mine this way for about $15-$20 two years ago. Took all of 45min start to finish. I got mine off Amazon like Guy said. Starter hasn't skipped a beat since.

    Thanks Guy! :hattip: It's ordered. Says it should be here by the 2nd. I've had it apart a bunch of times (pretty much after every wheeling trip the last couple of years) to clean it out, so I won't have any trouble swapping out the parts. :thumbsup: I just didn't know they'd be that easy to find in today's disposable world.
