K, thanks. The Cobra 25 in the OGT is a 1990 year model, the one I'm putting in the T4R is a 1995, though it's been modified with a rgr beep board and was supposedly peaked and tuned. It's either got a bad speaker, which I'll find out because I'm getting an external speaker with Talk-back for it, or it was poorly tuned because incoming transmissions sound a bit like Charlie Brown's teacher and are hard to understand sometimes. Also, although all the experts say it's impossible, when I swap this one for the one in the OGT, the SWRs go way up without any changes to the antenna, just unplug one radio and plug the other one in (same power source, gnd, and coax) and the SWRs change. Those old school radios really last. I heard that the ones I have might have been made for Cobra by Uniden, re-branded copies of the 68 I guess. If I get a new one, it will be a Uniden 68...if I can avoid the temptation of the sexy piece of junk Bearcat 880. I know it's got a rep for being garbage, but it sure is pertty.

People usually get there around 1100 but if someone is camping there the night before their checkout is at 1300 so just beware of that. Usually it is empty on a Friday morning though

Geebus, I'm cutting it close. I might have lost my cig lighter and ash tray, but I gained two functional power points, with an option for a third, if I want to put one on the passenger side of the side panels, sort of a passenger courtesy plug in if they need it, or a constant hot one if I ever need one of those. This is how far along I am thus far...

    de_Lue-dj1QH11R3E80hVHJ0LwusKx2rDcPUhJFF_3572f0eadff9e8ee7d3f209ae5e675eefd77f46f.jpg

The mic is just a mock up; it's a nonfunctional one I have no idea why I haven't thrown away years ago, but it came in handy. I also robbed the mounting bracket out of the OGT. Guess the new one that's coming will take the old one's place in the OGT. Still no antenna mount, external speaker, or coax yet.

I figured out a solution to my rattling and scattering tool issue. I'm gonna get a plastic bin, put the tools on the bottom, a drop cloth over that and then my recovery gear on top of that. It ought to make that work out. Tried to do that this morning but I got all the way to Lowes and realized I left my wallet at home. Then i got all the way home and realized I hadn't for gotten it, it just fell out of my pocket between the seat and console. FML.

Have yet to put the skid back on either. Procrastination maybe.

I don't think I'm going to end up bringing any food, just maybe some gold fish crackers, soda, beer, and booze.

Looks a lot like my solution. But yours seems a tad more cost effective. These pelicans sure are pricey.

Awesome, I'm gonna need that floor jack Friday. :D

I was debating whether to even bring my high lift. I'm not sure it has enough travel to lift the T4R high enough to take the droop out of the suspension. But then again, the three trips before I got one, someone in my group needed one and we didn't have one. Ever since I've got mine, all I've used it for was at home breaking the beads on tires to either clean the mud out or add more Air Soft Beads (turns out 9oz (1/4 Jar) of them are just about right for 265/75R16s. My 33s probably need 1/2 of a jar and my 35s will probably take a whole jar per tire. Anyway, I just know if I leave the high lift at home, I'm going to have a Need for it.
