This rain is killing my pocket. Had to postpone the fj lift again plus the wife had a dental appointment and is not feeling 100%

 

Okay, I was planning on bringing a couple of chicken breast fillets to BBQ on the grill for dinner on Friday. I was having trouble thinking of what to have with them since I'm kinda burned out on potato salad and I don't really care for coleslaw or pasta salad. I'm also not a good enough camp cook to bother trying to cook something...or rather I'm too lazy to want to worry about it. So anyway, Frank and his crock pot of chili gave me an idea. I think I'm going to make a crock pot of red beans and rice to bring out there and heat up in the crock pot. There's probably going to be a lot of it so as long as I and my campsite buddies get some, I'm willing to share it with anyone that wants some (while supplies last, haha).

I was planning on rolling in Friday afternoon and I don't have a c.b. do cell phones work out there. Lee I have your number.

 

Could do baked potato or a canned item on the fire.

 

In areas. At camp I got service but frank was having a hard time if I remember right.

I got no service at the campground. If I head west about a half a mile or so down trail 10 there's a spot where I can get a signal and it's random out on the trails.

I'm gonna try to be back at camp around 5 pm so there's still some day light left to cook dinner with. Cooking in the day light is easier than after it gets dark.

 

When you busted the bead last trip not the big meet I was on the phone with my dad while driving the trails.

The situation, which has been previously mentioned, is thus: we currently have about 50+ trucks on the camping list. The Holder Mine Campground only has about 15-20 RV sites and there's no guarantee we will have the campground to or selves. Those of us going early are going to try to spread out as much as possible to to occupy as many RV sites as possible. Those of you coming later might want to try to buddy up with an early arrival to share a site. I'll start with the folks I know off the top of my head will be there early. Just cut and paste the lists into a new post and add yourself on your preferred spot. I think @michaelrussell and @Alfuh will be there early, but I'm not positive.

"Ain't Skeerd" list...

If you want to be in the pin-striping, ain't skeerd of a little mud on the trail, trail exploration group (lots of riding with minimal stopping) on Saturday, put yer name on this list. @Rattletrap66, @michaelrussell , and any one I forgot that has volunteered to be a trail guide, you guys don't have to get on the list. This is mainly to see how many we are going to have to divide between us. The other types of groups, aka: the ones that want to avoid the tight trails and pin striping are kinda on their own at the momentsince nobody has stepped forward to lead them.

This comes under me not being much of a camp cook and being lazy.

 

this is always my go-to... can of green beans or can of potatoes and just open them up and put the whole can on the grill/burner/fire. Minimal effort needed and it fills you up.

 

I'll just try and call you guys when I'm near. Any ideas on what trail you guys will be on Friday afternoon.

 

best luck is to try us on the CB, we don't spend too much time on one specific trail
