    If youre coming from Louisiana, you'll most likely take I10 all the way to 75 then cut south to ocala. But Crestview is not far from pensacola eastbout. But I'll be leaving a day early like I usually do, so I'll be going down Thursday, so no convoy lol

    No kidding...my back hurts just looking at that pile-o-logs. :eek:

    Most of us are bringing firewood though. The space under my storage box is packed full of firewood as well as some of the bed. (Been hauling that crap around since before the October meet...it'll be nice to have an empty bed again. :rolleyes:) Don't worry though. I saw a sign last October while coming in on trail 10 for one of the folks that live along it selling firewood. There's also a Wally World and a Lowes not too far away where you could buy some. I'm sure someone would be willing to take you up to one of them so you could get a few bundles. :thumbsup:

    Do you guys mean that we are in a forest and can't get wood from it to burn? I not saying to chop a tree down but at least some dead ones or ones on the ground?

    WTF? A permit to build a fire in a campground or to pick up the dead trees off the ground and burn? That's screwed up, I understand in not being able to chop trees down but the ones on the ground should be free for all. Also the dead ones.

    More money for the government. Do we need a permit to Shit in the woods? How much we have to pay to use the bathrooms there?? Wow. That's insane to have to get a permit to be able to make a fire.

    It is only for gathering, no permit required to make a fire. It is pretty damn retarded though

    You need a forest product permit there too.
    Just make sure they can't prove you took that wood from there.

    Whoa, easy there fellas...:goingcrazy::facepalm:

    I'm not sure where the heck you guys got "you need a permit to gather firewood" out of that. All it's saying is that you can only gather firewood and build a fire in you designated campsite. Everyone will have a valid camping permit. You receive your "valid camping permit" when you fill out the form attached to the envelope you stuff with cash and drop in the payment box. You can't just build a random fire in the woods.

    However, that said, this is a freakin' PINE forest. Pine makes CRAP firewood. The only oak trees outside of the campground are few and far between, so you probably wouldn't have a lot of luck finding oak dead wood in sufficient quantities to keep ya warm...especially given this is not too long after hunting season has closed. So yes, you must get off yer wallet and buy firewood to either bring with you or after you've set up camp. Look on CL. There's usually a few places listed that will sell you a wheelbarrow full of seasoned, split oak firewood for about $20. Or you can get it from Wally World, Lowes, or your local Publix grocer, but you pay more for less this route.

    :rofl: such tricky wording

    A while ago I had found a nice pile of free firewood outside someone's home near the campground, they had just chopped down an oak tree
