I might have to follow your recommendations. My dad has a float tube in his garage somewhere. It might still be in the box. Thanks for the tip

Any ham radio guys operating on 395 Bridgeport area? I could seem to get out on 395 in the mono/Bridgeport area I could hear incoming though. I’m also on a handheld with a antenna mounted on the roof.. I was trying Carla net but was wondering what others may be doing?

Not familiar with the Carla Net and it's coverage.

Typically Ill scan quickly Leviathan which is linked to Conway Summit and vise versa when I'm in that area.

    Leviathan -146.655 - 131.8
    Conway Summit -146.880 - 131.8

CARLA can be spotty in that area. I also have the Bishop Amateur Radio Club (BARC) VHF repeaters on Silver, Mammoth, and Mazourka. The Corey Peak repeater near Hawthorne is part of CARLA and can work pretty well. I usually have it up when I'm in the Bodie/Aurora and Masonic areas.

Yes, Repeater Book as well as the Bishop Amateur Radio Club site, http://n6ov.org/repeater.html.
BARC repeaters are all linked and they have a friendly net every night at 7:30.

I have that same view right now. Except I can turn around 180 and see where you where when you took the photo. It's also already 90 degrees so I'm about to head up into one of those ranges. Haven't decided yet. Bishop problems. lol
