I'm updating the TomTom I gave Dad when he bought his car four years ago. He asked if updating it would make it work better, and mentioned that it'd never been updated.

I bought him this one because it had free lifetime map updates. If he wants something nicer, he should start by dumping his flip phone, but that would mean using something like a COMPUTER, and we can't have that.

$1200 for the groupset opposed to $6000. I want one believe me but 2 bikes (one maxed out) and the other will be for less than $6000. I'll eventually get one just not now.

Just messing with you. I learned about the stupid end of bike pricing in the '80s when a friend was building up a Colnago. Iirc, he got the bike to under 16 lbs, and that was before carbon and titanium were in general use. He also spent untold amounts of time and money making it a work of art.

Yeah it's easy to do. The Yeti might be a retirement gift to myself. But, the law of diminishing return comes into play pretty much around the $3000 mark unless you're racing. The Ridley weighs in at 18 lbs and there really isn't anything I can do to make it better. I'm in love with it. The DH weighs in around 36lbs and I might knock a 1/2 lb off with the Saint groupset. But... the DH is geared so low that it really isn't too hard on the trails. Not a Cross Country bike by any means but it wasn't built for that.

When I was racing was the only time I didn't mind spending the extra money. A lot of that was offset by the company I was riding for.

Not finished, but ready for use. Great materials from the private yard. Two sheets of A-C grade, true 3/4" plywood for $60, and a spruce 2"x8" that was perfect. The 1" material was from Lowe's, and other than the damn staples all over the edges, it was good, too. Side compartments for the Ziploc containers, and the 5' jack will fit in the center as soon as I trim it a little. The center support structure runs the entire length of the bed, under the crossmembers. The platform is very solid.

I still have my 1997 Giant ht iguana. At 600$ it was a lot back then. I couldn't do that now.
Besides,at almost 49,wrecking hurts like a mutha fkr! I already hurt without a ride. Last time I was riding regularly,I was out at about 5am. Had my lights with one on helmet and handlebars. Looked down and locked up sliding sideways due to a big fkn family of coons with the mom acting like she wanted a piece of me. Couldn't get feet out of clips fast enough. Downshifted, shit myself, and pedaled out wjth a fkn dog comes out of nowhere and makes me downshift again . The little fkr almost had my ankle. Didn't stop for about a mile.

LOL. Just kidding, nice job. I really did not understand what you were attempting during several discussion between you and Peter Peckerbeater.

Haha... No they are both single speed in the front

    Dorks

    Looks nice man!

Lol... Yeah it can be. It's all relative in the end. When I was racing I had a $5500 Merlin and people used to give me shit about it. I was always like..."wait a sec... don't you have a $50000 Ranger Bass Boat that goes 80 MPH?" I quite honestly didn't didn't know fish could swim that fast.
