Thats not a bad price at all. Did you do rear through ECGS and front from Premier? May be a smart way since ECGS has a 5 year warranty.

Yea I have a buddy who went through them for a locker and is now using them again for regear. I Called them up and got quoted $1900 for regear and $3200 if adding a harrop elocker as well. Seems reasonably priced. Same day turn around and they book by appointment. I’m going to go through them.

I wonder if they would consider a “group buy” or something similar

Is it normal to have more rear end noise now with my new 5.29s?

    sure does shift much nicer!

Installing gears is an art. No, new gears shouldn’t make any noise.

You should take it back to whoever did the install and ask them to fix it. They should warranty their work.

Same thing happened to me when I changed my gears. I had to find another shop to fix the original install.

I watched the max powell youtube video today about his 5.29's and they said they're gonna sing a little bit because the teeth in the gears are deeper.

Yes, gears make noise. They will be a little louder, and you can hear it. I think every truck I've driven in that's regeared, I can hear it.

Excessive noise? No. But a little whine at highway speeds that is pretty much unnoticeable? Yes.

I haven’t regeared myself yet but I’ve also heard this myself from a shop.

What kind of noise? My 4.88 make a bit more running noise than stock 4.30 but actually have become slightly less audible in 4+ months. Nothing too loud though.

Somehow my 4.88's seem quieter than the stock running gear, but in general yes shorter gears are louder.

Think I read somewhere on this thread that someone said the same. Noise got quieter as time went... could be that or maybe you just got so use to it that you don’t pay attention to it anymore :notsure:

No it definitely got quieter. Because I tune in to such things.........worried something was amiss. But nice now.
