Good people. Mine should ship in a few days and will be installed by my dealer for $1000. I’ve been wrenching on something every weekend for the last three months and don’t feel like doing it.

Going to 5.29s right away will actually save you money since you will hate your truck less. The less you hate your truck, the more you avoid wasting money on stupid mods when what you really needed was gears.

    Are those 35x10.5r17 Kenda tires?

Edit: What's your wheel offset? This is pretty much the setup I'm planning on doing.

I got quotes as high as $3,800 and found a shop that does a few of these every week on Tacomas in Spookane to do it for $2,000 out the door Nitro 5.29 front and back.

I have heard/read that this is completely normal for Nitro gears. They admit on their website there is no fix for that. Supposedly only happens around 40-50mph.

Was talking to the wife last week about regearing our truck then out of nowhere all I see on IG & FB pages are people regearing... I guess that’s a sign that it’s time..

After a little research, it looks like it’s going to cost around 1900-2200 for the full nitro kit & install.

That being said, anyone have any (positive or negative) reviews of shops in SoCal? Will probably pull the trigger after I get my new suspension installed in the next week or two.

Hahah could have been it. Most people I saw it looked like were up in Oregon/Seattle area though. Either way, it's time!

Did you ever pull the trigger on getting the gears installed. If you did, what was your experience?
