Do you know if he fixed the cruise control issue? When i use cruise control, it reverts back to the old Toyota shifting

I’ve never had the issue of it reverting to poor shifting habits, but I rarely use it. I also don’t have adaptive cruise. I have read that some of the issues are because there is no throttle (gas pedal) applied during cruise.

Got my Revolution Gear 5.29s installed, and picked the truck up Tuesday. So far it’s been awesome and immediately have noticed the better shifting, low end power, and better gas mileage!

I know you’re supposed to change the gear oil at 500 miles. Would it harm anything if that was stretched any further than that? Trying to plan a trip over 4th of July weekend which will put me over 500 miles, and I doubt I’ll be anywhere near 500 miles by Thursday when we leave...

Right on, I just got my nitro 5.29's installed. Way better than stock. I didn't really play around with the breaking in or mileage I changed it right at 500 because of the cost and hassle of it all. But they did tell me to go with 75w-90 when I changed the oil. Should It be a heavier weight since it's a biggier gear?

Can I get the cliff notes for these? Ha. I've got a 2019 with MT, front low pro bumper with a winch, roof rack, kbvoodoo bedrack with a rtt and plan to go to 33's. Are 5.29's a good thought or is it best to go with the 4.88's?

How much time you spend crawling?
How much time do you spend in the dirt and rocks?
How much time do you spend driving around town, and maybe up to 45mph?
How much time do you spend 65-80+mph straight up highway driving?
Do you tow? If yes, how much? Trailer weight?

    No crawling.

My dirt/rock driving has been about every two weeks to go camp. The roads have been getting gnarlier. I have to go up about 5000 feet in elevation to go camp though. Been constantly having to downshift into 4th, sometimes even 3rd.

And around town and highway driving are about the same. 50/50

    No towing at all.

    With MT I wouldn’t go to 5.29. Most are 4.56 or 4.88

    I'll play.

How much time you spend crawling? - Zero
How much time do you spend in the dirt and rocks? - Want it to be lots (kids getting older, more free time, money, etc.)
How much time do you spend driving around town, and maybe up to 45mph? - For now with covid, zero (every few days shuttling kids to the ex. even when this is over (ha) I work in IT and will push back on returning to the office)
How much time do you spend 65-80+mph straight up highway driving? - driving to the dirt and rocks
Do you tow? If yes, how much? Trailer weight? - I want to get a small trailer that fits 3. easily less than 4k

    4.88

5.29 would be absolutely great for some very limited occasions, and man 4 LOW, MT with 5.29? Holy hell that would be great in 1st. But stock NOW and you can go in 3rd and 4th to your camp, nothing about that or the rest of your answers screams 5.29 to me.

Truck is finally a driver again. 5.29’s, 35’s, and the auto are a great combination. Gears were quiet up to 65, will test highway speeds later after alignment today.

Does anyone know how long it takes the computer and transmission to figure out that the gears have been changed? Or is better to drive it in s mode for a bit?
    AT with 5.29's, 33's

Huh? There is nothing to “learn” with new gears. Just drive it like you normally would. You can reset the AT memory, but frankly I don’t suggest it, unless you are on OVtune. It takes a few thousand miles for the AT computer to really get everything “relearned”

Ya, this is classic over thinking. Just drive bro... 5.29s and 33s are a good setup. Just don’t plan on long 90 mph runs down the Interstate
