Yeah you should get much better than me. Still the drag=speed^2 applies to all. The faster you go the worse your mileage will be.

This makes sense to me since skeletron has has more weight and drag than my setup.

I have 285s, 5.29s, sliders, and front skid. Also tuned and get 21 mpg going 65, 19mpg or so at 70mph, 17-18mpg at 75mp, and 15-16 going 80-85mpg. Keep in mind this is all on summer gas. Winter gas and cold knock off 1-2 mpg on all of those above. I live in the mountains so love 5.29s. Only time I wish I had 4.88 is on long road trips where speeds are above 75. I only say this because I think I'd get better mpg. 5.29's at 85 drive so smooth though and hunting gears is never a problem. If I keep it below 60mph I can get up to 24 mpg on my trip read out. Speedo is calibrated too FYI and always confirm same mileage plus or minus 0.5 mpg by hand calculating. I'm a nerd to say the least.

I have been running the KDMAX Pro tune for a few months now with 5.29's and its definitely worth getting done. The gears and tune are the best things I have ever done to my truck.

Good to know! I’m up here in Utah with some decent elevation myself. I used to have a manual Tacoma and from what I’ve read the 5th and 6th gear are the same as the stock manual Tacoma. So I guess it won’t be too much of a surprise

Just got my install scheduled and they’re gonna do a cab mount relocation.

after install: SPC UCAs, cranking up the coil overs, going 34s.

Nice! I've read the same and that 5.29's on auto with 33's comes out to be from my memory about 15-30 rpm more in 6th gear at 70mph than the manual in 6th gear on stock tires? This was ultimately the reason I went with 5.29's over 4.88's, even though in my head 5.29's sounded like to much haha

ECGS is booking out on 5.29 installs until early/mid June now, FYI.

Just setup my appointment yesterday, was hoping for something a little sooner but it is what it is.

ECGS doesn't sound like they even have 5.29's right now. I'm sure if I dug hard enough I could find a set to buy, and then schedule time with a local shop. Most everyone is 2-3 weeks out. Another two weeks for the wait is worth it at ECGS, warranty, and solid reputation.

Does everyone get gear howl with the 5.29s, is that just a normal characteristic or is it hit or miss? Do the 4.88s have less gear howl?

and does anyone have experience with the Yukon gears?

All gears seem to be hit or miss with gear whine

Yep, I get it if I drive over 75mph. If I let off the gas it stops, but as soon as I press the pedal again it comes back. Or maybe it's the other way around, I can't remember... Really not that big of a deal though. I have nitro gears if that makes any difference.

    A few
ECGS recommended against Nitro gears for 5.29, instead they said to go with Yukon. So I did.

85/140 Lucas Synthetic - Zero whine.

Yeah I’m going Yukon with my shop. From what I’ve heard is that Nitro gears are naturally a little noisy

Why do the gears howl? I don’t get why ford can offer different gears on the bronco to accommodate 35”s that are silent but after market for Toyota are loud?

No howl here with Revolution 5.29s. Less noise than stock.
