Incorrect, there’s mixed data on the actual top end.

That’s a terrible example. Of course it takes more effort to climb hills, that’s a product of gravity…We’ve moved on from that topic anyway.

I can finally join in on this thread!

Nitro 5.29's from ECGS with Cryo-One cryo and REM processing, and install by ZUK Gears.

Ken texts you pictures and updates of everything he does to your gears, start to finish.

I cannot wait to drive it with the new gears. It certainly needs the extra help.

Yeah, I feel pretty lucky to live only 2 hours from him. 8 hours of driving to get them done, but it's well worth it to me.

All my rigs are purpose built. From crawling to camping. I also enjoy a nice stock truck for what that’s worth. Toyota’s are the jam!
Best thing you could have done to your rig given your setup. AluCab doesn’t play weight wise, so gears paired with the right leafs will do you right! after I did my gears, I was curious how much a Tune would add to the help. My buddy Rich @Stormpeacock put a tune on my rig after the gears and it refined the shift points even more. Is the tune a necessity, no…did it smooth things out even more..yes.

I will be getting a tune as well, after I enjoy the 5.29 life untuned for a little while.

Always keep in mind, that less is more. We all experience different things with these mods. If your satisfied with the gears alone then look no further.
Weight, terrain, altitude, hell even driving style….all play a roll with how these trucks operate.
I love my little truck, it will go amazing places and I enjoy how stout it is in 4lo with the 5.29s without a front locker. They are impressive Offroad machines.

If my buddy wasn’t so close to me, and made the Tune easy…I probably never would have done it. Now that said, afterwards I could feel a difference. My truck is heavy as all get out, so squeezing what I can from the drivetrain is paramount. I need to put my truck on a diet.

I actually just went back to the factory tune. I’ve tried a lot of tunes and most of them were pretty much the same but having been on tunes for the last couple of years. I actually prefer the factory tune. I don’t know if it has to do with learning and the evolution of our trucks but now that the truck is completed the factory tune adjusted to my driving style just fine.

Most of the trans learning is done when the truck rolls off the showroom, adding a ton of mods changes how we drive, not sure the trans easily adjusts.

You can easily edit the stock tune to change the speed limiter
