Is that because speedo needs to be calibrated? Also why can’t fiberglass companies get rid of that little notch where the factory fog lights would go. Having a straight line to make a tube bumper is always ideal.

Well shit. Now you got me thinking I should go with 4.88s. I’ve been changing my mind for 3 or 4 weeks now, but time is running out to get that free compressor with the locker... :D

Not sure about the speedo. I hear ya on the notch tho. A lot of people just cut that shit out. I on the other hand have plans for that notch and will end up leaving it ;)

Speedo [3rd gen at least] reads off the ABS sensor, gear ratio does not affect it.

I've heard that at as well but my kit requires the ABS to be permanently disconnected because of the upgraded spindle and my speedo still works with it being disconnected

Ok guys, so I've been speaking with Swan w/Rogue off road in Vegas and he is a direct Nitro dealer who is installing the 5/29 on my AT 3rd gen this week, I'm picking up the truck later this weekend fingers crossed... I've heard that there is in fact an electronic limiter that kicks in for some reason at about 86 mph... Seems like even the shop doesn't know why that is the problem but they are trying to figure out if there is a way around it. I will report my findings as soon as I break the gears in and can push it to see what it can do. Wonder if CHP would give me a break for the sake of very important scientific research lol

Interesting. I assume it reads off all 4 wheels then. Just don't go full-float on the rear and you'll be all set then

That seems like an odd spindle. What are you running?

Wont he have a cel on dash from it not finding abs sensors? If not I’m tempted to pull all my sensors off. ABS delete would be awesome. Eliminate all the traction control stability control BS all at once. I know my speed by rpms anyways. Especially after all this gear calc stuff I have been doing lol.

So i live in houston.. very flat. No hills. Going with 35's and wondering if 5.29 is what i need rather than 4.88? I do plan on road trips throughout the US and need some good input. I dont want to struggle keeping up with traffic because average fwy speeds are 70mph throughout the country

    Stock....ish
I'm running 488s and on flat ground it's fine. Its once you get into the hills you'll have issues. I'm also running front and rear bumpers, full steel sliders, custom bedrack with ruggedized rtt and 35s. Living at elevation I wish I had 529s but you should be fine.

Yes my ABS light is on as it permanently disables the feature along with traction control, so that light is on as well. Ill eventually look into solutions to get rid of the lights.

Pull the clear plastic cover over gauge and put a little electrical tape. That’s what I would do. So the speedo doesn’t work either? Does odometer? You gonna get their tundra steering rack as well? Solo does some good stuff. I’m pretty close to them.

No the speedo works. I only mentioned it because some people say the speedo is tied into the ABS sensor. Well my ABS is disconnected and the speedo still works.

Yes will definitely upgrade to a tundra rack in the future. Going to beat the stock one up first since it's still new lol.
