I am ATL as well, if I didn’t have to roll all the way up to the top on NC that would be killer!
Your truck have a locker in the rear?

Okay all my 5.29 manual fans. I drove to work this morning and decided to share my mpg. I ran 60-70 about 80% of the way the other percentage was downshifts quick starts 3.5-4.5k rpm accelerations due to stops, red lights, and large hill roads. (North Georgia) My gears are broke in so I was not babying any of these miles. I’m on 35s with no extra weight added other then wind resistance of a 6 inch lift. My speedometer is not corrected and is off by about 5mph. So this leads me to believe that I’m roughly 7% off of what the mpg says on my truck hud. Therefore I would probably add about 1mpg to whatever the hud reads. With that said I would assume 16.5 mpg is what I get.

((Click this link for updated numbers by a smarter person then I lol ----->The 5.29 Mega Thread!!<-----))

Before the 5.29 gears driving under the same circumstances I was getting ~12 mpg with the stock 4.30s. The truck rockets into 6th gear which is definitely where I’m gaining that extra mpg due to reaching top end speeds much sooner and able to maintain that speed without downshifts.

    Thanks for sharing your experience.
Ordering mine this week. Thinking of having Southern Offroad install them, or my buddies shop ACC Garage. My only concern with using my buddies shop is that, while they have installed a boat load of gears on Landcruisers, I know they have not installed them on 3rd gen tacos. My gut says take it to someone who has worked on the 3rd gens, and pass on my friends shop for this install.

I believe it costed me 1500$ labor for the install at southern offroad.

Yep. They just quoted me 2200-2300 for parts and labor. Mine has the elocker in it, on a 17 pro.
I have a buddy that owns an overland shop in AZ, but he mentioned he did not like installing kits he did not order, but would do it for more a bit more labor..which I get.
Looks like the biggest mod yet will be happening soon ;)
    Stoked!

they quoted me that as well, when i arrived that price went up to 2800 because they couldn't get the deal they wanted on the gears from nitro. nitro priced the gears for them at ~1300$ then the 1500$ labor stacked on that.

If I recall the mileage difference is about 7% off of stock tires with a 33. On a 35 you are closer to 15% so your MPGS are likely closer to 17.5

    wanna be mods
The tire calculator shows the difference from the 265/70r16 stock tire (mpg and odometer base) and your 35x12.5r17 is 12.6%, which would result in approximately 1.953 add on mpg, bringing you to ~17.453 mpg...so a bit better than you initially thought/worked up...damn this might read as "told ya so" but not typed that way:cool::D

Also to the folks who are doing the break in correctly i purchased 4 qts of nitro gear oil from alligator performance, it was about 40$ cheaper after shipping from them compared to nitro directly and it arrived in 2 days.
