Install was done at Brothers 4x4 in Montclair, CA. Extremely good install pricing.

Here's some info from my 3rd leg home that some of you may be interested in.

    Edit: the mpg is unadjusted.

Truck has 315/70/17's, a shell, front and rear rack, a tent, sliders, a winch and OVTune's newest version for reference. Basically it's heavy and not aerodynamic. Haha

Joined the 5.29 club, couldn’t be happier. 5th and 6th gear are finally alive, the truck isn’t working nearly as hard as it used to. MPGs definitely improved, don’t have specs yet. FYI I am driving an AT DCLB on 285/75/16s with a bumper, winch, sliders, camper shell, and occasionally a RTT. Thanks @JoeCOVA for all the data on this thread.

I really need some input from everyone on this thread because at this point I feel like I wasted a ton of money on the regear.
I was running 285/75/16 then switched to 305/65/17. Truck has a front bumper, skid plates, and sliders.

I regeared the truck a little over 1,000 miles ago and have noticed very little difference especially recently driving from San Jose to LA. I barely got 300 miles on one tank.
I did however notice an increase in performance when driving up hills.

I guess my main questions for folks on here are:

What is the average speed that you're noticing mpg gains?

Anyone use OVTUNE after the regear?

Any input and/or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you!!

I haven’t seen a huge if any mpg improvement but my truck doesn’t go down into 4th anymore on the highway. Mainly stays in 6th and 5th and that’s with 35s. Overall drives a lot better. Best mod I’ve done.

also did the diff swap thing with ECGS and I have zero howl or anything weird.

I can get 20mpg if I set my cruise on 60(65ish with the bigger tires.
I’ve set 75(80ish) and got 15mph but the truck was keeping that speed uphill.
I definitely felt the truck was better after regear but wasnt in awe. I reset my truck by pulling the battery at 150ish miles felt a difference. I’ve read somewhere it takes about 2000 miles for the truck to learn your driving habits so at this point you can pull the battery or just drive another 1000 miles.
I dont think the regear is really for fuel savings but I can feel the truck isnt struggling especially uphill. There are grades Ive driven before the regear where the trans temps go 240+ and I need to slow down. Now I can do those same grades at 80mph and the trans temp stays at 200 and engine isnt “screaming”. So think of it as saving your transmission.
I don't have an ovtune and feel that I dont “need” it. I normally get 250 miles per tank with mixed driving before and after the regear.

All my rigs are purpose built. From crawling to camping. I also enjoy a nice stock truck for what that’s worth. Toyota’s are the jam!
The regear is to help with the crazy ass trans hunting and obviously helps with weight and tires.
I think fuel savings is gonna be based off of so many factors, it’s hard to compare one persons experience to your own.
I know that doesn’t answer your questions, it’s just more over a performance thing.
