What up man! DC 5 lugs are pretty uncommon, I've seen less than 5 online and in the wild.

No real updates since my last post. Suspension is still the same, Spacer + Bilstein 4600 up front, Shackle Flip, AAL, SumoSprings, and Bilstein 5125s in the rear. I guess since my last post, I went on a few crazy trips and really beat the hell out of the truck. Aside from new scratches all over, I messed up the diff which put the truck out of commission for a few weeks. I was wheeling with a buddy near Anza Borrego and we were going pretty quickly down a river bed at night. Hit a surprise rock smack on the center of the diff and busted the seal, causing all the fluid to leak out. Managed to get the truck home and resealed/reinstalled the 3rd member. No issues since.

I think all AAL kits for 5 lugs will get about the same amount of lift. Frankly I only have experience with the Readylift one I installed so I can't confirm. I think you only get the full 1.5" rear lift with nothing in the bed. But also once you do load it down, the lift offered by the AAL will go down over time as the spring settles in. Ultimately I did also go with the shackle flip for a proper level with all the gear, but I think if and when I take off all the gear, the rear will go back to having a few degrees of positive rake.

I'll be selling the truck this year and will try to get some pics with no gear on it when that happens. I truly love the 5-lug to death, but I've started taking on longer trips with more gear and hitting more difficult trails. Mainly I'm looking to get a 4wd Taco to go more places. I really wish I could keep this truck and get a 2nd truck for that, or even 4wd swap it like 5Lug Fury did, but it's simply too expensive for me right now. A 3rd Gen 4wd is my dream right now for the future but that being said I stand by our 5 Lugs and will die on this hill. Until I'm ready for the next one, I will continue to put my truck in situations it was not designed for!

Thanks for all the info! I didn’t realize a 5 lug DC was that uncommon. Posted it on FB and got the same response haha. Here it is,

You guys are awesome on here for pushing the lil slug to its limits. I don’t plan on taking mine to anything too crazy as it’s my daily. I would love to go camping in some light florida trails though and taking it on established camp grounds across states so I’m definitely going to do the AAL and front sus upgrades.

You know whats more uncommon than a DC 5 lug? An SR5 DC 5 lug.

Only difference is the oem painted fender flares, and bumpers as far as cosmetics go. Interior-wise, leather steering wheel and shifter, with back-up cam.

Dont quote me on that tho. Ive never seen a DC 5 lug in person to check, but i know all the AC and single cab trucks lack any kind of tech.
