Ok, I am sure everyone is sick of CAI threads, but I have to ask before I try this on my brand new Taco. The AFE Stage II CAI, are there any downsides? I do not offroad and I live in SC, so water sucking is not TOO much of a worry. how about whiney dealers and warranty concerns? Are there any ranges where power/torque actually dip below stock? I have a TRD exhaust on the truck and no other performance mods so far. Please let me kno wany useful info and try not to rip me too badly for re-asking questions I am sure have been beaten a good bit. Thanks!

Not to be arguementative, but on the HP and torque charts for the CAI, the AFE is higher throughout the graph for torque and HP. In understand that charts can say anything and 84.62% of statistics are made up- but how could they claim that if it is not the case?

Thanks for the info. Seems I will NOT be picking up an AFE CAI then- no reason to spend money to lose power! Guess I will stick with my AFE drop in filter.

    From my actual experience:

The TRD exhaust gave me no performance (0-60, 1/8, 1/4 times on my G-tech) improvment. IMO, the sound was nice above 3000rpm, but droned from 2000-3000, and from idle-1500 it sounded ricer to me. Now, exhaust note is very personal. As history I ran Magnaflow mufflers on my last truck, a Dodge 4.7, and like the V8/Magnaflow sound.

For the AFE, see here http://www.tacomaworld.com/forum/performance-tuning/141312-afe-stage-ii-perf-data.html.
