    04 Tacoma 3.4 4x4 auto STOCK
    Hello,

I am in the 818 area. Just upgraded to an 04 taco ALL stock. 4x4 automatic. 127xxx miles and counting.

My last tacoma was a 96 loved that thing but at all almost 300k it was time to go. It had suspension lift kit and 31s. AAL as well.

My goal with this truck is to have it ready for the dirt/mud/sand/trails/fun.

I dont want long travel or anything complicated. I have been debaiting the OME kit from wheelers becuase i feel that is the most complete one but it is a lot of money. Any recomendations as to where I could purchase one like that at potentially cash price? and then installation maybe. I also will want to do some b/f goodrich all terrains with some black rims. not sure what style to go with.

Who in the valley is a good shop for this?

If you have the tools, I would do the installation yourself it is really easy.

What's up people. Good thread here. Started off hella funny! Tells me everyone on here is cool & friendly. I just joined the forum yesterday. Picked up my first Tacoma (99 4WD auto) a couple of weeks ago. From what I can see, it's stock height, but has Fabtech coilovers in front & shocks in the rear. While I was down there, I noticed the leaf springs are S shaped. I'm guessing they're just wearing down, or who ever installed then didn't know what they were doing. So I'll be getting new springs soon. And I was thinking bout shackles to lift it a lil. But I also read that I can use blocks as well. Preference anyone? Then I can jack up the front, and put some 33's on it. That's the plan for now anyway. Is this something I can do on my own, or would I need a shop to do install? I went to 4 wheel parts, an they wanted to charge me 600 for the leafs, shackles & turn up my coilovers. Sounds a be pricey to me, but I don't know what labor would be.

    Direction is greatly appreciated.

Welcome and look into old man emu kit it comes with front shocks and lift coils and then new rear leaf pack this kit will give you a good three inch lift.

Look at wheelers offroad website they have some good prices.

As for install just post up and maybe we could figure out a mod day

Thanks for the welcome, info and help offered. Greatly appreciated. Gonna look into that set up.

Yeah, when I was there, I felt like I was more of a bother than customer.
Made me feel like I shouldn't be there if I don't know what I have, or what I want.

It's my daily driver, and I don't plan on using it for off road a whole lot. I DO plan on using it for snow trips to Bear, Mammoth & Tahoe. I seen that kit, and it looks good. Not to sound cheap, because I'm willing to fork out the cash for that set up. But could I just replace my leafs & add shackles to get that 3" lift, or am I expecting too much from doing that alone?

I will also need tires soon. So that's why I'm trying to go around getting a new set up. Just not in the budget for both at the moment.

Lots of choices. check out wheelers, toytec for deals. I had a sonoran steel kit that drive very nice and cushy, was happy with that in my 3rd gen 4runner. The sonoran steel kit does not get much love around here. old man emu seems to get a lot of love around here, then you can go mid travel kit after that. it is all up to your budget.
Good luck. Google is your friend.
