I'd count my blessings then throw a lift and some big tires on as insurance. Your folks won't want the truck back after that.

Everyone, since Lumpskie said so, here's pictures of my 96 2.4 2WD Taco..

    And I stand corrected...98k miles.

Recently did a black/white accent krylon job on my grille. Got sick of chipped black. I'll post pics up soon.

Nothing perfect, of course. Lots of small dents. Needs a respray too, so many imperfections. All in due time.

Thanks! Had REALLY oxidized paint from years of sitting when I got it, but it looks decent now, need to get a power buffer instead of doing all this by hand...

Oh, and on regular unleaded on my last trip from seattle to east oregon i got 26.5 mpg. Loaded down. Avg 24-25 combined now

After following some tune up advice on this board, I've gone from an average of 15.5 mpg to 19.9. Trying to squeeze some more out of it

Yes that's gonna be first then lift and big tires but I'm wondering if I should let them keep the truck and buy another with less miles :notsure:

with 382k i would tell my grand parents to please take the truck in to a shop for an engine rebuild since you got a free loaner truck for a month while I was stuck with nothing. Then I would go to your dad and get YOUR name on the title so that doesen't happen again. You can do joint custody so both you and your dad have to sign the title for it to be sold. Also was it a legal sale through the state? if so you will have to pay tax on it and you will be losing money, so your grandparents should cover that too. Like you said, it's family, but if you are doing them a favor like loaning them a truck you bought for an unknown amount of time your wallet should not take a hit.

Your truck looks great pyrettablaze. I wish my paint looked that good.

Also, welcome to the boards, born again taco.

So how well has your rig been maintained? If maintenance has been good, you can get a lot more life out of it. There is a v6 4runner out there with over 700, 000 miles on it.

Okay ya'll. Went mudding today (not really, just ran it through a crapload of puddles and ruts, lol). Real fun starts tomorrow when it decides to storm. Here's my dirt progress. Oh, and the painted grill pic is in here :) enjoy! (I know the lines are imperfect, but really, it's my first paint job. I think I did okay)

My dad is being a prick he won't do joint custody because he still pays insurance on it for now and he won't let me even paint my wheels black or put an exhaust on it it's frustrating because I bought the truck with my money and that was the deal I bought the truck he payed insurance the whole thing pisses me off
